Shock Absorber Lamp with Mid Century Shade.

 

Here we are with another great Classic Mechanical Lamp that’s a really cool look for your home, shop, office or even a Gallery.

 

This is hand made at the shop and the cool thing is that we use all parts we have here around the workshop and the parts other than electrical are all recycled.  And that gives this a whole new lease on life as something completely different.

 

I used a old Motorcycle shock absorber of which I removed from my 2013 Triumph Thruxton as i blew the Nitrogen out of it. I then set it upon a 6 inch wide Solid 2 inch piece of Aluminum.

 

This was then wired by me with new wiring but wanted that vintage look and I think I pulled that off.

This is kind of a one off and hand made, now that’s a rare thing these days.

 

As you can see, I used an original mid century Three Tier Lampshade that has that really cool Fleck interwoven in the material.

 

This certainly is a head turning lamp and I am sure you will get many comments on it.

 

This has the original Blanket stitching that was so popular in the kitchy 50’s.

This really would make a superb gift for someone and will last many moons that’s for sure.

It stands about 28 inches high and 15 inches wide and weighs about 15 pounds.
