Honda CB750 Brat Bike 1974 S.O.H.C. $3750

Sometime ago, I picked up a few old CB750’s in a job lot, amongst these 500 pounders was an old Dry Lakes racing Bike that was in a sorry state, but, never giving up, I put the bike to one side and knew this would be on my “To Do” list that I have. This is a 1974 CB750K series machine.

39

Every now and again I would do a few minutes on this old bike, I managed to get the motor to turn , so knew at least we had some sort of chance at having a go at this old Girl.

98

Well, I then stripped all the parts off that I did not need as it had a bunch of weird parts, the rear sprocket was Huge and it had a small 17 inch tire on it, the gas tanks were bolted to the frame, just old aluminum tubes with fuel lines.

I rebuilt some Carbs I had and fitted to the bike, I managed to get brand New coils etc and thought I would drain the oil to see what story we had.

The oil was Clear and still looked brand new, no discoloration at all, thats a good sign.

I removed the old seat and the frame was cut at the rear anyway so decided that for me, I shall build a little Brat style bike and have fun with it, just wanted to see what this would come out like.

61

So-I removed the wheels and used 2 new rims, laces with stainless spokes and Polished the hubs etc, next up was some cool Diamond Tires, not cheap but- had the look I was after.

The bike now has 2 rear 18 inch rims and sits so much better than before, I like the way that this bike is going, so the next job was to rebuild the front forks, as the tubes on the top were rusty and the seals were leaking badly.

18

I removed the forks, pulled the old tubes and got rid of them, purchased New fork tubes and then cleaned and polished the lowers to a chrome finish, fitted new seals and then once all put together, I fitted new dust caps and custom chrome covers too. I also used genuine Honda top Caps and O-Rings to make sure all was cohesive and am glad I went this route.

The stock carbs were totally knackered that came with the bike, so stripped, vapor blasted, Zinc Plated, Synchronized and re fitted with New jest and throttle cables etc, get the Juce to where it is supposed to go.

99

Custom Steel Dragon Airbox purchased and fitted to make sure this breathes well and it sure does.

39 101

So, to open the frame up a bit I fitted a Custom Oil tank that holds 3 Quarts of 10-40 and, holds an anti gravity 8 cell Lithium Battery and electrical, I also fitted a New solid state regulator/ rectifier and fitted under frame.

84

I custom made the Brat style seat and upholstered, then once that was sorted, I fitted new rear License plate frame and cool model A Ford tail light, both stop and tail light work great.

Fitted a Brand New 530 Custom Blue chain onto New rear sprocket and it tensioned nicely, and seems to be a smooth action when moving.

81

This bike has the very first Custom Performance Exhaust system that I am very proud to even offer on my website, this is called the “Sling Shot” it is wrapped in High temp Titanium on the headers and the rear is Chromed to a high finish with a Nickel Plated removable Baffle and, I love the sound this exhaust growls.

28

Have a look and see for yourself, a VERY tidy exhaust set up that will turn many heads for sure.

27

Fitted New Old stock Finned covers to the Motor, fitted New Clutch cable as well.

The bike also has a polished front fork brace to stiffen the front end up and a polished upper tree that also cleans up the top end.

74

You will notice the handle bars, well I designed these and had them bent up and chromed, these are very cool and European style that I grew up with back in the England, they also have Brand New Handlebar Controls and new Grips too.

100

Has a rebuilt front brake caliper with a polished Rotor, to get things stopped fast, the whole front end looks so nice compared to when I first received the motorcycle.

All the gears run smooth, I was super surprised, it was fun riding this around for sure.

Only thing I can see is she does puff a little white smoke out of the breather, but- this has not run in 31 years so rings may need to bed in a bit.

Starts right away on starter or on kicker too.

Have a look and see what you think, very cool ride for sure.

58

A Fun ride for someone for sure. over $4200 in parts alone, so a steal at this price, you just add your touches like paint the gas tank or just have fun with it as it is.

If you want to know what Parts I have fitted, here is a list of the things below:

This has NO- Title I haven’t got round to it and thats why this is priced accordingly as I have other projects I need to get done and finished.

A super platform Brat that I am sure can have more tricks added , like you can paint the gas tank, oh by the way, has New petcock and fuel lines too.

Located in La Mirada, you can pick up, I can deliver up to 30 miles for a fee but thats up to you.

I am going to add some more photos to help you get a better idea of what I did.

Enjoy

My Newest Exhaust System The Predator for all SOHC CB750 Honda’s

Hey All

Well here we are again and wanted to try and bring you a custom set up that you may well like to have on your inline Four machine Honda.

predator2

Been here over 17 years and love turning out different parts for you all and I send my parts all over the globe, so this time I though a Custom exhaust system might be in order and here it is.

predator3

This is a Super Custom design and internally has a bag of tricks that a Magician would love to own, its secret but all you need to know is that it will give you More performance.

It will be available as a Raw Steel set up or as you see on here right now, a Custom Version where We send you the header and Wrap kit, and a Chromed rear tail section and removable Baffle.

predator4

We will also offer a Black Or Silver ceramic option too, so you have pretty much everything you need to decide on color and look etc.

You simply fit and have fun, as that’s what it is all about, this is a great set up and I know some of you will be right into this out of the bat.

predator5

No need for the old flanges and also on 77 and 78 Models, none of them terrible Half Moon shims to bother with, Just remove your stock spigots, fit New Crush Gaskets ( We offer them too ).

Fit to bike and hear the difference, this will breath like New lungs and boy does it look sharp.

predator15

I ship 6 days a week and also over sea’s. I help on the Customs forms too- so you do not get hammered on import taxes where you are not supposed to anyway.

Have a look and see what you think, this is a unique set up, as used by AMA Race bikes back in the day, I found the magic formula and this is the result, hope you like it.

predator16

Drop me a line at carpy@carpyscaferacers.com and I will give you all the information you might want to know about this great exhaust system, I am here to help and help I shall.

You can also drop me a Dime at: 714-598-8392 and, if you are still a little impatient, you can text me on that same number, how’s that for Service?

predator23

I have to chrome the tail sections so that take a week but other than that these are ready to go. Thanks for taking your time out of your day to check out whats going on here at carpyscaferacers I really do appreciate it.

My Honda SOHC 4 into 1 exhausts

Hey Everyone

A few people email me asking for sound samples of the exhausts etc, sometimes I keep them on file but after a while I tend to lose the files somewhere in the vastness of Computer space and never get them back.

So today I shall add a few sound bytes that I have done over the years to try and help just a little as to what my Exhaust systems sound like on these inline Fours.
Been doing these over 17 years here now and am very proud of that fact, none of that china stuff many others use, and then say its theirs and made in USA, all made right here in Anaheim California.

OK-if you need more information, you can email me on carpy@carpyscaferacers.com or if you like, you can drop a text to me or a Dime for that matter at 714-598-8392 and I am more than willing to help you out if you need photos or info for the 4 into 1 system of mine. Also check out ALL the exhausts on the parts page too.
Enjoy.

That was a 1978 Super Sport and the next one up is an earlier model that you can sample on here.
Next up a K4 model.

Here is a K6-K6 Model with the Yoshimura style 4 into 1 system of mine on it.

Below a customers video.

Below is another exhaust system from me but this time its for a CB350 and CB400, now this has a Fully packed baffle, a little too muffled for my liking, but it is what the Customer wanted.

A little louder version and this bike had not run in years and was first start up too.

Another Raw steel one but this time on a CB400-4, this sounds pretty good for a bike that had not been fired up in many many years.

Another Customers video of my exhaust on his CB550 Honda.

This is a customer video, not sure if he has the baffle but still great to hear.

Here we have a CB750 that a Customer had made a video of, with my pipe, see what you think, sounds crisp eh?

Here is one of my Custom versions, the Razor and the Hot Rod as well as the Sidewinder.

Many moons ago I built the F-Bomb and it sure was too!
Hold your ears for this exhaust system I made.

MOONEYES ANNUAL OPEN DAY WAS A BLAST

Well, going to Norwalk Blvd and stopping outside the famous Open Eyes, has always been a cool thrill for me, so much Hot Rod History in that little Yellow building and here we are again for the huge show that generates so much excitement and popularity, that I hope one day Shige can buy next door and make this an even bigger event.

I have been attending these shows since I moved here from other shores back in 2000 and to go to this show is a superb social event for me, some people I have not seen in years but also some people I have seen the day before, this is a fun family atmosphere with Genuine interest in our “Hobby”- ” Lifestyle”

The sun seemed to be up early today and as I kicked the Royal Enfield into Life, I could feel the beads of sweat running down my face like I was about to be shot out of a Circus cannon into an awaiting Net, that was made of wet paper .  But the Royal Enfield jumped into life, ticking over like a well oiled sewing machine, I clunked the gear shufter into first and it ubruply Grinded into the gear and then it was go time, Revs up, Clutch out, arse down, elbows up and I am now off to Norwalk , with Blues skies and a full gas tank, life seemed to smile at me, as to say. ” Go on son, have a brilliant day.

moon15

Well, as I took the back streets, it took maybe 10 minutes for me to pull into Norwalk Blvd, and slowly but surely I could see Hot Rods, Customs and every kind of style of machine on either side of the road, as I pulled up to Mooneyes, I was ushered into the driveway, where upon I was blasted by the sounds of the 50’s, some fella playing a stack of platters and I was digging the vibe Daddy’O!

Moon3

I took my Brain Box off and was Greeted right away By the Manager, Chico, such a genuine bloke that I have known for over 17 years now, he welcomed me and thanked me for attending, how nice is that? Don’t hear that much these days and it goes a long way in my book. ” What book is that I hear you ask?”  The book of Pleasantries!

moon17

Man! Was it hot, not even 10:15 it was Hotter than the inside of a Pizza oven on a Saturday evening.  But I was here and there were a ton of like minded souls there, soaking up the Sun, the Sounds and all the cool vendors and machines that adorned this infamous place for a Custom Couture that I dearly love.

moon66

I left my Brain Bucket sat on my bike, another cool thing with Mooneyes is its a safe place and I love that trust ethic at a show, very rare indeed.

moon14

The next person to take time out of their day was the owner of Mooneyes and a super friend of mine.

moon2

SHIGE SUGANUMA:  What a fantastic Bloke, flys over from Japan to meet all his Customers and genuinely take time to see how you are and ask about how things in the business and life is going, a rare find these days.

With more and more people pouring in, I wanted to get around and try and take a few snaps with my phone, not an easy task as so many people darting about but, I wanted to try and share with you lot what I did today, as many like my Blogs etc.

I walked along to the Vendors and wanted to say hello to my mate Keith Weesner, such a superb artist, always has time to say hello and another bloke I have known over 17 years now and as crazy as I into Hot Rods and Art, maybe even more so.

Moon4

So many rides parked all over the place, it was fun walking around, talking to people and checking the latest machines out.

moon 1

I bumped into my mate Big Dan from the Dynotones, these guys are the best 60’s Surf, Instrumental band anywhere, they rock it 24/7, try and ctah them at one of their gigs.

http://www.dynotones.com/

I saw so many rides there today, everything from Nostalgic Hot Rods, to Metal-flake Kustoms, it was great to see other rides that I have never laid my eyes upon and everybody seemed to be having fun.

If you are ever in Sunny So Cal, check Mooneyes out, they have all you need for your ride and what a historic trip down memory Lane you will have.

http://www.mooneyesusa.com/

As the day got hotter, it was time for me to do another quick walk about and say high to friends and cross the road to see vehicles that hugged the kerbside and boy was there some neat rides there.

moon56

So, here is to the next event, this show is on until about 3-4 pm so go check it out, so easy to get to off the 5 freeway for Cars and Bikes, this has it all.

Check out the workshop too.

Hope to bump into you at this event next year, have a great weekend all of you.

HONDA CB750 BRAT BIKE

Well, here we are with a 1974 Honda CB750 SOHC model that was turned into an old Land Speed dry lakes Racing bike many many moons ago, but have no real history documentation of what it achieved back in the day etc, but- you can be sure that someone thought long and hard as to what they may do with it.

Last year this was a total mess, it was too dangerous to even attempt to ride, so, it sat for some time in the corner of the shop of mine, until such time as I thought that it needed to have a new lease of life and restyle this inline four 500 pounder into something a little cooler.

As you can see by the photos below, it was not much of a looker but- it did intrigue me to see to what lengths people would go to with these iconic Honda Fours, and I just let this bike sit until I decided it was indeed time to resurrect this sleeping giant. I removed the Old wheel and Built 2 Brand New Rims, with Polished Hubs and Stainless Steel Spokes, Both 18 inch rims.

18

So, time has gone by and over the past few weeks I have changed a number of things and I am sure that you will notice a difference right away, this is NO show point for sure, I just went ahead and changed a few bits and bobs as I pulled the old rusty and non usable parts off and either refurbished, remade or purchased New parts to slowly transform this inline 4 into a cool looking Bar hopper Brat style machine.

Below is the bike with another Gas tank, fitted with a New OEM genuine Honda Petcock, then I have totally rebult the old carbs, vapor blasted and rejetted them to the pipe, the parts taken off were zinc plated, polished and re-assembled.

20

Some of you may not even like what I am creating here, that’s fine as we all have our own tastes, but, if you are reading this, then of course, you must be into seeing what is becoming of this Single Over head cam Motorcycle. I wanted a Brat style machine and every few days at a New part, some of the work I have created has taken many hours and sometimes days to get it right.

22

Just have a look at the front forks compared to the old ones, as I took them apart. cleaned everything internally, then Polished the lowers, fitted New genuine Honda Fork seals and then Brand New Chrome Fork upper tubes, with New springs and caps etc, I also set the pre-load with stainless washers, just like back in the old days of racing.

sling shot1

I also cut the back of the old frame rails as they were not good anyway, and then I made my Own steel Hoop and shortened the chassis to give the bike a lower looking stance, Whilst I was at it, I also fitted a Custom Oil Tank that I sell on my website, this Oil tank holds 3 Quarts and has a battery Compartment where I have fitted an Anti-Gravity 8 cell battery pack and managed to fit some of the electrical in there too.

slingshot 5

Also you can see that I made a seat pan and upholstered it with cool Old School style Diamond Stitching, this looks pretty cool and am surprised how comfortable the seat is, and just have a look at how much this bike has changed since I first acquired it, I have fitted new Diamond Treaded Firestone Tires to match the seat and both Rims are 18 inch and make the bike sit so much better than the stock configuration.

sling shot9

Now, As you can also quite clearly see, this bike has a TON of New or refurbished parts, the carbs alone are like New, has a super cool New polished Air-box that makes this Motor breathe right. The Motor has Black wrinkle High temp paint on it and is embellished with stainless Allen head bolts through out and Brand New Honda valve caps on the cover.

sling shot7

This Brat Bike now has some cool parts, like my Newest Prototype exhaust system, the “Sling Shot” This is a great set up that produces power through all the range of motion and sounds incredible, later I will add a sound byte for you to sample the Motorcycle Running. I have many parts now added to this machine and here is the list below of things that I have either rebuilt, changed or refurbished.

  1. Throttle Cables
  2. Clutch cable
  3. New Rims
  4. Polished hubs
  5. Stainless steel spokes
  6. New Firestone tires
  7. Polished hub
  8. Custom Stabilizer Bar

  10. Drilled and chromed Kick starter
  11. Custom seat
  12. Hooped frame
  13. My own hand made bars -Chromed
  14. Biltwell grips

sling shot6

I am still working on this and not sure on a price, No title for it but will come with a Bill of sale when completed, I also will be adding a few videos for you to look around later and also then I will have another Video of the bike running, that way you can hear this amazing exhaust system.

A few months ago I got this running and I loved the sound when I had the raw steel exhaust on, this now has a high performance exhaust system and is look really cool.

Life behind Bars

Well, 17 years seems to have flown by and here I am, still playing with two wheeled contraptions.

As a kid , I was fascinated with Motorbikes and at any opportunity I would drop everything to watch , hear or just read about these mechanical machines.

I have lived all over the world and seen some fantastic motorcycles and knew that one day I would be lucky enough to reside in the United States of America .

So, in 2000 I entered California and the first Motorcycle I created was a 1976 CB750 of which I gave the Cafe Racer styling.

carpys vw

The livery was in the style of the 1970’s Formula 1 John Player Special Team of Gold and Black.

carp 750 carp7501

This motorcycle caused a huge stir in the American Motorcycle community and put me on the map as as Motorcycle designer and builder.

Carpa1

17 years later and my 50th creation is almost completed , I wanted to build another CB750 and this time use some crazy Candy flake colors of which covered most of the Hondas of SOHC guise.

1

This time I chose a 1975 CB750F model Super Sport and went with a Black Wrinkle Finish Engine, Dressed out with Stainless Steel Allen Head Bolts throughout.

3

I also designed a Brand New 4 into 1 Exhaust System that made the Header pipes swing out to the right hand side and then tightly under the chassis and a unique short turn out tail pipe.

2

I took the stock gas tank and cut out the filler neck and welded it flat, then welded a Harley Gas Cap bung in its place to give this tank a cool smooth appearance .

20

Next up I took some 18 Gauge steel and hand bent the seat base to the style I was looking for, then I cut another piece of steel into a half circle and hand pounded it on a sand bad and then used my Air Plenisher and shaped it into a cowl, then tig welded to seat base, once that was done I then cut a teardrop shape out of the rear of that cowl, to allow for a unique Tailight for the bike.

11

I upholstered this seat base with Brown Naugahyde and did tuck n roll design.

12

I rebuilt the front forks and machined the  lowers to have finned grooves in them, rebuilt the front and rear wheels with polished Hubs and stainless Steel spokes and shoved New Rubber on them.

19

With 14.5 inch New Shocks makes sure the rear end keeps smooth and some Italian Rear sets clamp tightly to the frame. But still More to do and wanted to show you some progress photos, Hope you like what I am doing here, a little out there but, that makes it more fun. Stay tuned to my Blogs on more as I will ALWAYS be messing around with 2 wheeled Machines.

The Crap people put up for Auction on Ebay make me laugh!

Howdy all

Well just a quickie today but I tell ya, just when i think I have seen it all on the infamous Ebay site, someone has to top it and this one is sure one of the best.

ebay2

I usually look for a few parts for a Honda if I am rebuilding it and do not have my own private stash to grab hold of, so I start to search for a Left side Stator cover and bugger me, I almost pissed out my own prostate Gland right through my Boxers.  Have you seen anything as bad as this for sale?  Jeez, the guy is explaining that’s it is a deal.

Thought that you all may get a kick out of all that you see there, not sure how the guy sleeps at night to be honest.

I have seen plenty of snot on the Ebay site and the guy who is Auctioning this off must be high, and if some one buys it, they must be using the same Bong!

Just wanted to share with you and at $35.00 yeah what a deal.

That is all, carry on!!!

FOR SALE 1976 CB750F $3500

Here we are with a 1976 Honda CB750 F Super Sport that has been turned into a cool Classic style Cafe Racer, the price is determined by the fact that it is not a new build and it does have a few scratches here and there etc and, it does jump out of 2nd gear, hence the price, But still a great deal as I rode it today and what a blast.

ss13

Still Hauls hard through the rest of the gears and I am still adding a few things to this as I try and get the bike looking how I would want it.

Although I do have a Customer visiting me on Thursday to look at it and take it for a spin.

ss15

This has had a lot of work done by me over the last year and it has the SS Gas tank that I hammered the knee inserts into, then cut the old gas cap flap out and welded that flat, then added a stainless Steel 2 Inch Monza style Flip Top Gas Cap.

It has one of My Rocket seat bases on thats covered with soft upholstery and is damn comfortable for sure.

ss12

Now, I have fitted some Original 1975 Marzochhi Race shocks, these are a rare find anyway but i wanted that ride height and now she sits well and straight and the shocks soak up the bumps as you power around the roads etc.

ss11

This has Clubman bars with a set of GT grips with shorty rectangle Mirrors,.

The gauges work but are stock but sat on my custom Gauge panel that’s polished alloy and sets the top end out from the rest.

ss9

The front forks are polished and also have braided hoses throughout, you will also notice that Both Rotors are drilled for that old school look.

New battery keeps the thing alive and has a good 630 chain and sprocket set up to handle the torque of the inline four motor.

ss5

19 inch front wheel and wide 18 inch rear are powder coated black with Stainless spokes and painted hubs, give this bike a tough look indeed.

ss7

Today I cut and bobbed an old front fender and fitted to the bike and man it hugs nice and tight over that 110X90X19 front tire.

ss1

The Damned 1963

Well, when this weird movie came out, I was just a year old, its crappy and black and white but that’s what I love about the old B movies, suspense and thrillers, a few Rockers thrown in and there you go. A totally weird movie, but just for the tacky music and the great motorcycles, clothing and old School England, brings back great memories for me.

Dont take it for seriousness, its a mix of Juvenile delinquents, Social welfare, espionage, Government secrets, and science fiction all rolled into a small sandwich to get your teeth into. It may not be the best sandwich you ate but- you will sure remember it. LOL.

Movie Info:

Joseph Losey directed this unusual science fiction effort, which has won a small but fervent cult following. Simon Wells (MacDonald Carey) is an American visiting England, where he meets a woman named Joan (Shirley Ann Field).

Simon is immediately attracted to Joan, but there’s a considerable obstacle in their budding romance: Joan’s brother King (Oliver Reed), the leader of a violent pack of motorcycle Rockers. King has a barely concealed incestuous attachment to his sister, and he sometimes uses her to lure victims into his gang’s clutches.

King and his cronies attack Simon, take his money, and leave him stranded, where he’s eventually found by a pair of military security men. Simon is brought to the home of Bernard (Alexander Knox), a scientist working on a secret project for the government, and his girlfriend Freya (Viveca Lindfors), a sculptor.

Joan eventually tracks Simon down in hopes of winning his forgiveness, but another run-in with King causes Simon and Joan to discover a cave that holds a terrible secret: a group of strange, cold-blooded children who were the products of one of Bernard’s experiments gone wrong.

the damned 1963e
The children were genetically engineered to survive a nuclear war, and, as a result, they are radioactive enough to kill anyone who comes in close contact with them. Controversial in its day, The Damned was produced in England in 1961 but was not released until 1963, when Hammer Films booked it as the second-half of a double bill with Maniac. It did not reach American screens until 1965, when it was shown under the title These Are the Damned. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

the damned 1963a

This is a film not often seen these days.

I have the film and will show it to fellow 59 Club members on a film night to make it more fun.

Here is the whole shooting match if you have time to atch, its slow but its history, a little like a cross between Clockwork orange and Rockers.
