ABOUT BERINGER BRAKES…
Founded in 1985 by Gilbert Beringer and his wife Veronique. The company that bears the Beringer family name is synonymous in Europe with very high performance braking systems for motorcycles, ATVs, racecars and – even Airplanes. It all started when Gilbert and Veronique, who manufactured Side Cars and were French national sidecar road rally champions were constantly dissatisfied with the modified automobile brakes fitted to their 3-wheel machines. An engineer by trade, Gilbert started designing his own components and handed the manufacturing to local metallurgy specialists. It was instant success. They soon sold their sidecar business, moved up the road to a small plant built within a mountain chalet, thereby respecting the local architectural style, a theme dear to the Beringer family, who later created the label “Made in Respect”. By 1995, motorcycle tuning, or customizing, was real big in France – and every bike that made the cover of Option Moto magazine, had Beringer Brakes. This caught the eye of Frog Specialties founder, Philippe Danh, who struck a deal with the Beringer family to import their great products in the USA in September 1997. |
