Royal Enfield Continental GT seats that I make.

Hey there you lot

Well its the weekend and finally got around to do a little Blog, work is busy and sometimes I simply run out of time to get on the Computer and type out a blog everyday, I do try but this week has been crazy busy.

carpy RE

Today I made a Seat for a Customer in Australia, he has a Royal Enfield Continental GT model of which I first started to make when these models first came out, and continue to make things like Seats, Chain guards and Turn signal brackets as well as coo headlights etc.

RE2

The stock seat is OK but just not big enough, I prefer to lose the rear fender/ Mudguard, although if you want, you can still fit your stock one if you so wish.

RE3

I also Frenched in a pocket for the LED Round tail light assembly that will sit snugly into that recess and this tail light is a stop-Running tail light.and to be seen is to be safe is my Motto and I am happy the way these looks when all fitted.

RE9

The Seat assembly is made from a Robust Resin and Glass-fiber, it is also gel Coated in a Gloss red to look like the Factory Red, but- You can of course always paint if you have a different color bike.

RE4

I upholster in a Black Naugahyde Material and you can choose whether you would like White Diamond stitching, Red, or Silver, as well as a choice of piping color options.

RE5

I also use the Vintage style snaps to give the seat a little more Nostalgia and the good thing about this is that you can simply pull the cover off and store your registration under the foam.

RE6

And, it is high density foam that I use, that way this is way more comfortable then the stock material that is used originally and use the same Foam in ALL my seat Products that I produce.

RE1

Also, another good thing to know is this is made by me here in California, not over sea’s, I purchased one in Vietnam just to have a look, man it didn’t even fit the frame, so a lesson there, stick with who you know and trust.

Royal Enfield caught testing 750 Twin Motor

750cc engine will give the cafe racer some serious power

A Royal Enfield Continental GT has been snapped up with a powerful 750cc, twin-cylinder engine which is expected to make it to their future line of products.

By the look of things, these are not RE heads but a custom set and this bike should haul plenty of balls.

It is about time they did this as the RE needs more power for everyday Freeway use and I for one can testify for that, so stay tuned we may see some cool stuff happening .

Take our word for it RE; if you are planning to put this 750cc mill on a thumper like the Bullet or a Thunderbird, it won’t go down that well as it won’t really fit in well with the legacy. Rather the suggestion would be create a completely new platform for this engine to give it proper justice. And also given the rumors that have been floating around about Royal Enfield working on the “Himalayan” project which seems to be a tourer of sorts to be taken up the mountains to Leh & Ladakh which is the most popular bike touring place for many a bikers and the bike of choice also being the RE thumpers.

Royal Enfield is also working on a 410cc Single cylinder engine but that seems to be the new generation motor to bridge the gap between their 350cc and 500cc machines and also provide the consumers with an option to balance between efficiency and performance, though we doubt how much that is going to affect the entire thing.

Our suggestion to RE would be that it is great that they are working on an inline twin but to keep their legacy alive and also develop with the moving times, a V-twin would make more sense which can be put on the legacy thumpers in the current line up as well. As for the inline twin, it is much more suited to a smooth, vibe free natured bikes and not thumpers. So if you plan for a street motorcycle or a sports tourer, in that case the inline twin would make for a more practical application like the Triumph Tigers. But for everyday use, a cruiser with a V-twin like the Harleys would make much sense and be practically feasible.

A Royal Enfield kinda day!

These bikes have really come a long way and that’s why we actually purchased one and in the last 2 weeks we have been changing a few things to make this stand out from the crowd, as this will become a popular choice I am sure.

We have already changed the shocks to our own style (available here) and love it way much better on the road and for looks as I just didn’t like the Yellow on the factory ones.

We shortened the front fender and took the silly reflectors off the sides, as well as then looking at the machine and decided to lose the big bulbous headlight and fitted our Classic chrome version (available here) and that’s way cooler.

As you can see, our prototype Megaphone is on the bike and I have run it for 159 miles with no issues, so now it is time to make stainless steel versions and they will be offered as Raw stainless or super highly polished stainless, either way a very unique look and sound.

This is a long stroking motor and when you run our system its sounds pretty darn cool, like the days of yesteryear.

We shortened the rear fender too and removed the huge Euro license plate surround and fitted our own and that’s way better.

Next up was to remove the big plastic turn signals for some cool steel/chrome versions and I am just about ready with the New Stainless mounting bracket that will be available next week.

Of course, I had to have some sort of pin stripe on the Red, just to break it up, and also painted the fenders RED to match and i think it works very well indeed.

we still had other things to do, I removed the stock Mirrors as they were ugly and the right side I couldn’t even see out of, so now replaced with our version and love these, available through us on the website right now.

I removed the safety switch from the bloody side stand as it was a pain in the arse to be honest and so much better now but i am changing- or-reconfiguring the side stand next week, so stay tuned on that.

Still more to do, as I will remove the Charcoal box at the front of the bike so this bike breathes a little easier.

She pulls pretty good and will eventually do some hop up on the Motor when she is all run in and I am happy with it, small steps until I get t know my way around this bike.

But I am happy with the outcome already and wanted to hsare some photos with you lot so you can see what we have created here at CCR.

Next week the Stainless Steel megaphone will be on and a few more cool parts added to increase the styling of this Red Rocket.

Many thanks for stopping to look at the bike, i shall be taking sme videos soon , that way you can hear how she is.

Enjoy your Royal Enfield as they are a blast to ride.

We love Our Royal Enfield Continental GT and we hope to be producing many parts for these machines, so stay tuned to the website.

Our Royal Enfield gets another exhaust.

Hey there you lot

Well, if you are looking at this Blog, you are probably interested or even own one of these Red Rockets? below is a Video i took on my little Camera and the sound really is quiet ccompared to real life, but- you will get the idea.

Now, even though I like the bike, the exhaust is something that I am not a fan of, so here at CCR, we have come up with a Cool, classic reverse Cone Megaphone that fits the bill.

This time I fitted the new Megaphone but I found it a little too noisy if you can believe that, but it needed just a slight tweak as I fear the neighbors would not be happy if I blapped home on this every night and needed to find a good Status Quo.The one in the video you see is just raw seel and, until I am happy with it, this one will stay until we make the Stainless steel versions which will be in Raw Stainless and polished stainless and that choice will be yours.

So, here is the last Video for now and to be honest, I am happy with it, the motor was still cold too and she still ran and didnt have to map it, so am really happy, the video I do next week will be with the completed stainless Steel megaphone and they will be available to purchase next week.I shall also take a few more videos of the bike going along the road so you can hear the other tones of the Megaphone when i change up and down the gearbox. Can’t be much fairer than that eh?
