Funny stuff to get my day off with a Grin

I forget sometimes what a dry sense of humor we Brits have, then this morning my mate back home sent me this, I almost pissed my Levi’s watching it.

OK, some awesome Irish humor with Mrs Brown and this time the Mormons drop by the house to explain the bible to her, but she has her own theory and boy did she make me laugh, Warning! She drops the F bomb from time to time.
Yes- this is a guy dressed up as a woman and one of the best LIVE stage acts you will see, their skits are so funny.
Enjoy

I remember these days so well.

I left School in 1978, so all this is so vivid to me, I remember painting the back of peoples Levi Cut off jackets with art work ranging from Rockers, to iron Maiden and black Sabbath, fun times and rode so many miles to fun places.

here is a old video from the days when i was running with the rest of the Rice boilers out there, a good morning for me watching this.

This was mainly a Bikers movie as no real rockers here but you must of been well off if you could of afforded a cine camera as developing was a small fortune.
Enjoy

here is a Black and white snippet of the lads in the 59 club for a documentary.

Franny Beecher, lead guitarist for Bill Haley and the Comets, which helped kick off the rock and roll era with the hit “Rock Around the Clock” in 1955, has died. He was 92.

Beecher died in his sleep Monday night at a nursing home near Philadelphia, daughter Pauline Grinstead said Tuesday.

The Comets, whose hits also included “See You Later, Alligator,” are credited by some music historians with having recorded the first rock and roll song in 1953 with “Crazy Man, Crazy,” the group’s biography on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website says.

Beecher, born Francis Beecher in 1921 in Norristown, started playing guitar before crowds when he was 17 and continued until he was 90. Before the Comets, he performed with Buddy Greco and Benny Goodman, Grinstead said.

“My dad didn’t play music for money. He was no businessman,” she said. “He played music for music.”

Although Philadelphia session musician Danny Cedrone played on the original recording of “Rock Around the Clock” before his death in 1954, Beecher played the signature song for the first time on national television in 1955 and also played with the group in films.

“Rock Around the Clock” became a hit again nearly 20 years after its release when it was included on the soundtrack of “American Graffiti.”

The Comets broke up in 1962, but in the 1980s, Beecher and some of the original members reunited and played tour dates around the United States and internationally for years.

Grinstead said her father also is survived by two sons and six grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were pending.

Here are some you tube videos I thought you may like.

Interview with Franny

Some great footage for you.

Big loss but he lived a long and fun life and what a great guitar player.

North West 200 Northern Irelands nuttiest riders 1997

A very rare look at what it’s like to do a lap of the North West 200 course on a 250cc bike. Except this is from 1997, and was filmed during the race with a camera attached to the side of Alan Patterson’s helmet.

If you dig this stuff then check these out. As this is obviously years later but all that happens is the speeds get faster.

Great wasnt it?

Here is some olf footage from back home, pure 1970’s filming.

Gentlemen, place your orders. If you love the style of classic racebikes, but don’t like the thought of tricky maintenance, take a look at the new Paton S1 Strada. It’s a seductive mix of vintage style and modern technology, and best of all, it’s road legal.

Paton motorcycle

There will be four levels of specification, ranging between €16,000 ($22,000) for the ‘standard’ model and €23,000 ($32,000) for limited edition ‘Factory Signature’ models. Most trim levels include custom adjustable forks, Öhlins adjustable shocks and vintage-style instrumentation from Motogadget.

Motorcycling history is littered with the remains of old marques revived and then abandoned, but the signs are very promising with Paton. Production starts in Milan in one month, and 25 bikes are sold already. The company has a long history of building bikes, so the production side should be viable.

Paton motorcycle
Giuseppe ‘Pep’ Pattoni founded the marque in 1958 with Mike Hailwood on board, and by the 70s, his 8-valve 500cc racers were a force to be reckoned with on European tracks. But racing became prohibitively expensive at the turn of the century, so Paton switched focus to building replicas of their 1968 and 1973 racebikes, selling them to privateers competing in ‘classic’ races.

The new Paton S1 may have a resemblance to those replicas, but it’s a completely different beast under the elegant fairing. Power comes from a reliable injected parallel twin—the same 649 cc, liquid-cooled mill used in the Kawasaki ER-6n/Ninja 650. It’s an engine renowned for its broad torque delivery and accessible 72 bhp, and it’s hooked up to a six-speed cassette-style gearbox. Power rises a little thanks to an exhaust system designed by Termignoni.

Performance is brisk. Thanks to a lightweight Claudio Colombo frame and high-spec components, curb weight is a svelte 158 kg with all fluids. Top speed is 215 kph (133 mph), and the Paton sprints to 100 kph in less than four seconds—on a par with much larger bikes such as the BMW R1200RT.

There’s even a chance we’ll see Paton return to full-scale racing. In May, they’ll be fielding a 100 bhp race version of the S1 at the Isle of Man TT, competing in the Lightweight class.

If you’d like to put one of these beautiful machines in your garage, brush up on your Italian and contact Paton via their website atwww.paton.it.

Thanks to Silodrome for the tip.

Foot Tapping, Knee Slapping Sounds that I listen too !

Plenty of sounds that I like these days and here is a cool french band called.
Jake Calypso & His Red Hot – My Baby Rocks
They sure can belt cool 50’s style Rockabilly and I dig the song.

Going with some traditional Blues with some Scat man thrown in for good measure, I love the raw style of Blues and hope this gets your foot tapping.

I saw Fellow Brit play at the House of Blues last year, a talented guy who loves the sounds of Doctor Ross and the Chicago Blues Slide.

Now Darrel Higham is a great British guitar picker – and this is how he shows you if you want to have a sound like Scotty Moore, then just try this.

I dig the sounds of the rockabilly days when i was at the weekenders in the UK back in the 80’s and this certaingly has that Rockin 80’s feel.

Now back home Jack Rabbit Slim was a solid sounding rockabliiy band and still bang their stuff out. Cannot get enough of this.

This time how about something a little different? This band is from the Ukreine and with the troublks out there, its a shame they cant go and watch this band, they have a heavy Johnny Burnette feel to their music and I dig it, cool title and great music.

Just thought I would add some unusual sounds for you lot to listen too that I dig, hope you liked it?

8000 Classic rides sitting there for you to take home.

Just scroll past these crap banners as i cant get rid of them.

Well, here is the holy grail of cool old snot and rust to spend the day rummaging around in, I would love to dig around here for a few days to be honest.
I spent over an hour adding photos from around the internet but- I am pooped, so this is enough for you lot to get ya heads round, enjoy.

There’s probably not one of us reading this who hasn’t at one point dreamed (or still does dream) about owning a salvage yard. The possibilities for vehicular mayhem and resurrection are just about endless, and you’d have plenty of places to stash your project cars under the guise of a legitimate business. Unfortunately, not too many salvage yards left have much old stuff, but L&L Classic Auto in Wendell, Idaho, does, and the owner is retiring and putting up the business and all of its 80-acre inventory for sale. From the seller’s description:

80 Acre Auto Salvage in Idaho. The largest in the North West, with an inventory of over 8,000 cars. The owner is ready to retire. Built from the ground up, this yard is one of, if not the oldest, largest continually operated yard. It is a piece of American history. Mostly domestic vehicles with a sprinkle of others. Located in Wendell, Idaho, there is plenty of room for expansion. Give us a call; we would love to tell you more. Or better yet, come view it for yourself. 2 miles north of Wendell, it is located on a main highway and only 3 miles off of the freeway. We sell cars and parts all over the world. Probably only 75 percent of this yard is actually inventoried, since it was started in the 60′s. This place needs an energetic car lover that could update the inventory and incorporate a website to capitalize on global sells. Someone who wants to save history, not crush it!

  • The majority of our inventory is heavy with 50s-70s parts. Many of our parts were removed when these cars were only 5-10 years old andd safely stored away.

Some cool video of chain on Drag bike and other cool vidz.

Well today I thought I would show you a cool video I saw on you tube- don’t ya just love that site?

This shows a great low view of the chain and how it moved and reacts on a Drag bike, thought that I would share it with you today.

Also a few of these videos of the drags, of course there is always something cool about a screaming 2 stroke motor.
NHDRO 2: Super Eliminator class 2-stroke motorcycle drag racing Indy

I would love this double engined H2, the guy is hard to hear but I wanted to see and hear that machine, love it!!!

Yes, back home this fella used a bunch of KH250 triples for a 48 cylinder world record, although it weighs a Ton!

Then there are the nutters in Germany that built the Chainsaw bike.

Now here is something you look at and say “WHY?”

Now this is right up my street, a V12 Lincoln Flathead Motor Jammed in this machine.

An old KZ1300 that was brutal in its day now has a Viper V8 wedged in its place.

Lotus motorcycle officially revealed

Lotus motorcycle officially revealed

By Andy Downes of Motorcycle News

 20 February 2014 11:24

As exclusively revealed by MCN more than five weeks ago, Lotus has taken the covers off the new motorcycle it will produce as a road bike and go on sale within months.

MCN got hold of leaked images over a month ago and revealed the plans for a road-legal motorcycle were way ahead of where many expected. The German-owned company Kodewa which has a licence to run the Lotus name has now officially revealed the final styling of the bike and technical details for the first time.

We can see the engine is a 1195cc V-twin from KTM’s RC8R superbike with a claimed 200bhp and dry weight of 180kg.

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/302524/images/03-lotus.jpg

Lotus Motorcycles states: “The C-01 combines ample power via a V-twin engine with a distinctive body designed by Daniel Simon integrating carbon fibre, titanium and aerospace quality steel.

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/302524/images/05-lotus.jpg

“The C-01 motorcycle is not designed, engineered or produced by Group Lotus plc but is the result of a collaboration between motorsport veterans under the leadership of Kodewa, led by Dr Colin Kolles. The development on the C-01 was carried out with the support of Holzer Group (co-owners of Kalex) and design guru Daniel Simon.

“Drawing on their wealth of motorsport experience, the team of engineers has designed a unique high performance superbike.

“The C-01 will be available in a range of liveries some of which pay homage to Lotus’ sporting pedigree. A customisation service is also available, limited only by the imagination of the client. With an exclusive production run of just 100 units, superbike collectors and fans of the Lotus brand will need to move fast to secure one.”

Morning Cup Of Cafe !

Tuesday already?  Jeez, time blows by fast at the shop and much to do this week, but thought I would try a little blog today as I do get emails from you, saying you enjoy my rantings and postings of things.

Well, as you know, I have finished the Rice boiler Motorcycle and I am stoked to how she came out, this is my own rode of which  I hope to bung a few miles on and have a wee bit of fun with.

Today I have about 6 exhaust systems to send out, some to England and Spain , as well as Denmark and three to the lower 48, so a busy morning packing, but its good to be busy and we try and ship as fast as possible.

We now produce exhausts for cb350-cb400,cb500,cb550,cb750 sohc and cb750 dohc and these are the Yoshimura type 4 into 1 systems. Available in Raw steel, Ceramic Coated Black or Silver and comes with a removable baffle and a nameplate.

We also make the Nickle plated 4 into 2 Dunstall style megaphone system for the 19691978 CB750 S.O.H.C. Model and people really like it, especially over in Europe.

I have been building bikes in the states for 14 years now and never tire of it.

I am now working on other designs of exhausts for machines and will of course have them up on the website as soon as I am all set to sell them.
