Look forward to seeing you there, as I shall be there with My crew, checking out the sights and sounds of this great cruise.

Great weather, great food, great Vendors, great Crusing and a great time.

This was one of the Beatnik Bandits cars built a few years ago, this has so many modifications, you could not count them.

A really cool range of Hot Rods, Customs and Classics seem to hit the spot every time I venture out to this annual event, and am taken aback by some of the idea’s and the craftsmanship that I clap my eyes on.  There were almost 4000 entrants here at the show grounds and it is one of the best laid back shows you can ask for, no attitude, just fun and cruising and also this is for a Charity , so all the money goes to a great cause too.

I was amazed at the amount of col rides you do not often see these days and some of the Cars were just like they came fresh from the factory.

This was an awesome machine and boy did we have fun around the show.

Check this stock 32 out, I wanted to drive this around so badly, a very cool find and I hope someone just leaves it like this.

Faith Granger was there with her 32 Roadster that was the main feature in her ” Deuce Of Spades” Epic film.

A very cool show, with many different rides and of course, styles of machines, a mixed amount of genre’s and a cracking good day, we saw everything from wild to mild and next year, we shall have a booth there and take in the whole day at a little more sedate pace.

We had a Blast and looking forward to having a booth for next year, so come by and say hello if you attend and also, come down to 1048 W. Collins in the City of orange and we shall do the best we can to entertain you.

2 Stroke extravaganza show

I got there early, and bikes were already there, I knew this day was going to be hot, so made sure I arrived in the cooler hours, just to take a few snaps and see some cool rides, some I haven’t seen since I was a teenager back in the UK.

A Superb show of Two strokes and something that made me think of when I was a teenager, agh! yes- the sweet smell of 2 stroke oil, Castrol R in my lungs, unforgetable.

There was a really nice turn out of an array of motorcycles and some I really do remember riding at one point or another, plus the sound alone is worth the visit.

It was already getting Hot when I arrived, and wanted to go and check as much as I could out, before the Sun made my hair grease melt.

A top job by the organiser and maybe next year I will have another 2 stroke so i can bring mine up to hang out with these great collectors and riders etc.

If you are ever in Orange county, look up these guys as they have a bike night once a month.

This would be great for the shop.

Cool cafe racer.

So many memories for me when I see these machines.

A really great turn out and I had a fun morning, looking at bikes and chin waggin with a few people and look forward to next year.

Space Shuttle cruises by The Shop

I was stoked to be sat in The Model A pickup outside the shop and watch the Space Shuttle come cruising by at 1500 feet from us.

It was something I will never get to see again and am sure glad that I caught this sight.

She flew right over the top of the shops roof.

Amazing is all I could say, and I hope you lot dig it too?

TURBINE POWERED CAFE RACER ! REALLY COOL

Just when you think you have seen it all, WHAMO!- This really knock out Cafe Racer had me glued to the screen like an old man with a Porno.

Check this bike out, it is just a great engineered Cafe Racer. I am so envious of this and would love to own that machine.

Air Research Suzuki GTP 550

Turbine powered vehicles are usually restricted to the skies but there’s always someone willing to break the mold…unfortunately it doesn’t always result in a practical vehicle, and this Cafe Racer styled Suzuki GT550 application is no exception.

And I quote (direct Google translation):

“Emile van Essen is from North Holland and was of the opinion that one could replace the original two-stroke three-cylinder of a 1976 Suzuki GT550 against a turbine. Thus found a Airesearch GTP 30 turbine built in 1967 make their way in the Suzuki context. Since the turbine works in addition to kerosene and diesel Emile also belongs in the elite circle of diesel bikers. The turbine provides about 90 hp at 58 000 rpm. The idle speed is about 18,000 trips. If you drive turbine needs a slightly different relationship to the speed. Power transmission, the original Suzuki transmission is re-used. The tank was borrowed from a Ducati and the start of the turbine was a 24-volt electrical needs. Nevertheless, the machine weighs only a little over 160.”

While the Airsearch powered GTP 550 may result in you having a huge grin from ear to ear there is no way this use of a turbine powered motorcycle could ever reach mainstream production. Why? Well the wind up time is certainly not desirable and when you switch her off she winds down just as slowly and of course there’s the ear piercing scream of the turbine, shattering windows and setting of car alarms as you cruise down to the local shops. Styling however is spot on, Cafe Racer all the way. I take my hat off to Mr Essen and any like him. They keep us smiling and certainly make life a tad more interesting.

Watch the video, I love this machine, what a great bike.

More Motorcycle exhausts available

Here at Nostalgia Speed & Cycle, we are going to try and cater for many brands these days, as I believe the motorcycle phenominum is getting stronger and stronger, due to the high gas prices- Bikes are a good bet for a cheap mode of transport.

I shall be looking at Manufacturing Triumph Exhausts as well as all the Metric ones and more that I will be carrying.

I will be having made more 4 into ones, as I have sold over 300 recently and keep getting orders from all over the world, as the pipes sound awesome, fit easily and look the part too.

I do cater for the good old Honda, and now specialize in Honda CB500-CB550-CB750K-CB750F, Also CB750 DOHC models now as I have 4 into ones for them bikes and they are selling well too. I really want to keep the pricing low and make sure everyone gets the same cool deal.

I

So, look out for a number of NEW exhausts from me, some 4 into 4 systems as well as 4 into 2 set ups will be coming into the shop and I hope you like what we do here?

I have built a trustworthy business of what I do and sell and all I hope to do is increase the product range that I advertise and try and have the prices not just competitive, but affordable.

I love what I do, I enjoy getting emails from Customers that are super happy to get and use their part they have purchased from me and I hope you are too?

Keep checking my website for parts and of course my Blogs, as I try and keep you all posted as to what I am up to these days.

On the 12th Of October I shall be in Alabama for the vintage racing and shall be a guest there and also racing a bike on the track, so if you can get to the Barber Museum between the 12-14th October, come check me out on turn 17.

CAFE GIRL – Anke Eve Goldmann The leather Clad Bombshell.

Anke Eve Goldmann was a journalist for Cycle World, Das Motorrad in Germany, Moto Revue in France and other motorcycle magazines internationally. In the 1950′s she competed in endurance and circuit racing, at the Nurburgring and Hockenheimring but being a woman, was barred from higher level competitions. As well as riding like a pro she was also a ground breaking style icon and designer.

Anke Eve Goldmann was the first woman to ride a motorcycle with a one-piece leather racing suit, which she designed with German manufacturer Harro, developing one of the first ranges of protective motorcycling clothing suitably cut for women.

She’s 6 feet tall, making the BMW look small. In 1958, she helped found the Women’s International Motorcycle Association in Europe. Anke Eve Goldmann was also friends with author  André Pieyre de Mandiargues and the inspiration for the main character, ‘Rebecca’, in his most popular book ‘The Motorcycle’ written in 1963. The book was adapted for the 1968 film ’The Girl on a Motorcycle’ starring Marianne Faithful, what a trail blazer!
