Orange Circle has their Annual Street Rod show.

Well, Jennifer went for a long ride on her Bonneville today with our 59 Club members, I had a few things to get done at home didnt have all day to ride, but what I did manage to do was jump on my Triumph Thruxton and ride down to the City of Orange for their annual car show.

Always a big turn out, I have been many times and always something new to see, so I slung my leg over the 2 wheeled machine and headed out there to see what they had on offer this year.

If you are ever in this neighborhood, always check the local rag to see what shows may be on as there is always something on from now on and as our weather is always great, you can really enjoy the atmosphere and not worry about the H20 Pouring down like so many other states still have this time of year.

I like to walk about and see what New rides have turned up, orange county has been the Hub of the Hot Rod and Custom Industry for many years and its great to be so close to so many events.

So I wanted to try and capture some of the stuff that they had at the Circle today. there was something for everyone and the weather was as good as it always is and I loved alking about in the relaxed atmosphere just checking out peoples machines.

So, below is a few photos that I have taken that I thought I would share on my Blog today.

Enjoy.

British Day at Olde Ship Inn Santa Ana

Well, St Georges day was Saturday and what better event than to celebrate it than going to a British Pub with British cars and Motorbikes on display for all to see and of course enjoy.

We always have fun on the rides and meet ups that we attend and like to show it on the website to share with you lot too.

Steve Martinez rocks up on his Black Thruxton.

We all met up near my shop in Anaheim and made our way to Santa Ana but chose to take the streets as it was a great day for cruisning about on a Sunday.

Weather was awesome and the ride was a breeze going to Santa Ana, the British pub is called “The Olde Ship” so try and check it out when you can.

The parking lot was great for todays meet up and close to the freeway makes it easy to get to.

We were fast to get some shade under the tree and worked out to be a superb day for us all.

James O’Donnell and Andrew Fiallo have a good chin wag as meeting up with mates is always good and plenty to catch up on too.

The 2 Steve’s chill out as we all get ready to have a look at all the British cars that turned up for a belated St Georges day.

James “Oakley” O’Donnell has always made the meetings we have had and is a great 59 Club member who enjoys riding his Thruxton.

Steve Martinez has his Thruxton all kitted out and rides all over the place, a great guy too.

Amanda and Steve parked up with their Bonneville’s respectively.

Steve Fellons Plate says it all about the club to be honest- Nice one Matey!

Barry “Bare” Baxter rides his Guzzi everywhere.

Been A Racer, A pilot and even A software engineer, a great addition to the 59 Club Family and is a fun bloke.

Refusing to compromise with a lower seat or shocks, Bare sometimes gets a little out of shape until the wheels are rolling but- we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Now- Don’t hit that Bloody bus mate.

In the Car park where we hung out with all the Brit cars, it was a fun day with free pint of beer and fish and chips too!

Amanda and Andrew are a great couple and both ride with us and each other, Loves a funny thing eh?

Amanda and Andrew ride a lot together and its great to see, Motorcycling is fun and so much you can do and get to easier on 2 wheels.

Andrew prefers the off road trail style of Triumph, the Scrambler is a very versatile motorcycle and I am sure he gets to many great areas on it.

The weather was perfect for this event and sure glad that we were lucky enough to park up under some shade as it got pretty hot.

James, Matt and Eric chew the fat on this British day, our club has a varied range of ages which makes for a fun time.

Matts Bonneville has had quite a few changes and he likes the way it is going.

Heading off for a Blap on his steed as the weather would be good all day.

My mate Steve Dennish Of Limeworks Speed Shop in Whittier beckons his wife Carol, to get her arse out of the car. This Rover P6 2 litre brings back some fun memories for me as a kid as my old man had one when he started a Taxi company, great cars, Me and my brother Both owned P5 Rovers.

Eric jumps on his Tango machine and heads out with those awesome rasping megaphones that get your attention, this is a cool bike.

Its a great color and the first I have seen like this and Eric loves to ride around the O.C. on it.

I took this as I sat at the traffic lights, always great to see and hear the rumble of these British twins.

Below is some of the cars that turned up and the Cortina Mk1 Estate belongs to my mate Steve Dennish son “James, great to see these cars.

Yes thats an Aston Martin right there.

Great Vintage tin for all to see, great people too.

I saw this Morris traveler but what is strange about it is its not like a stock one, this was a sedan that was converted and looked weird to me.

Now, this was a different kettle of fish and loved it, even the color.

James cruises out in his Cortina Estate.

Steve and Carol close behind in the Rover.

Here are some more photos that I took of the cars that were there at the show.

Plenty of MG’s to look at for sure.

So tiny though eh?

I’d drive that .

Thats super cool.

MG GT V8 had a nice rumble to it.

Lotus turned up with a Growl too.

Bare checking out the cars and likes the Riley 2.5 Litre.

So much to see and a fun day it turned out to be

Just wicked.

YES PLEASE!

Loved this too.

I think this is a MG- TC but a very nice job.

Plenty of Brit tin to have a look at.

This was so small.

Even a Roller turned up too.

I remember driving my Old mans Spitfire as a kid just this but blue.

Not my cup of Tea but sure many loved it.

A Pride of MG TC and TD”s sit in the Sun on this great Afternoon at the Olde Ship Inn.

This bought me back to so many memories, I used to jump on this very number Bus to Islington, and the old Route Master Double Decker was a huge part of my life, catching the 135 Brimsdown in Enfield to the Great Cambridge road was something I will never forget. “Fares Please”

What a great Sunday.

Salvage yard shut since 1953 finally sells its secrets

Oliver Jordon auction

  • The difference between a treasure trove and a scrap yard may just be good marketing. How else to explain the interest generated by a Oklahoma man who closed his junkyard over a zoning dispute in 1953 and protected it like the Fort Knox of rust until his death? Later this summer, his cache of some 250 cars from the first half of the 20th century will finally go to auction, and within all that broken-down metal rest a few true rarities.

Handled by Vanderbrink Auctions, the firm that staged last year’s madhouse sale of the Lambrecht family in Nebraska, the collection of Oliver Jordon doesn’t have anything to compare to a five-mile Chevy kept new since 1966. Jordon bought a scrap yard in Enid, Okla., in 1945, and when the city asked him to alter the property for zoning reasons, Jordon just closed up instead, surrounding the property with barbed wire and attitude.

  • Jordon kept adding vehicles here and there, but he never sold any. His grandson built a few sheds to protect some of the stash from the weather eating the rest away, and after Jordon died in 2004, his widow tried selling some of them individually. When those deals fell through, the family decided to go to auction.
  • No cars in the group will draw more attention than a pair of Cords — a 1936 and a supercharged 1937. Fully restored examples of these front-wheel-drive classics can fetch $200,000, but the dire condition makes their values harder to pin down. Other rarities include a 1939 Lincoln seven-passenger sedan — one of the few rust-free cars in the mix thanks to its aluminum body — along with what may be only the fourth known surviving example of a 1924 Rollin Touring sedan, the product of a little-known Ohio automaker.

  • The rest of Jordon’s empire of dirt holds some promise for those hardy hot-rodders who can see past the rust and weeds for just the right spare part or chassis. What’s not sold at the June 7 auction in Enid will go the route of many other scrapyards in middle America, recycled back into metal for the rest of the world. This time-warp 1963 Chevrolet Impala found a new home with a winning bid of $97,500 - making it the second highest price paid at the Lambrecht auction.

A Man Spent Years Taking Photos Of One Small Town. When You Look Closer, You’ll See Why.

Artist and photographer Michael Paul Smith has spent hours upon hours photographing one special town that he holds very dear to his heart. There is something that always drew him to it, and the images he created are simple, but stunning. They glow with small-town charm and innocence, reminiscent of days and decades past.

If you’d like to see more pictures of this perfect American town, visit the Elgin Park website. To learn more about Michael’s work, please visit the Craftsmanship Museum website for a full writeup on his talents and process.

ELVIS PUT THE CUE IN THE RACK 36 YEARS AGO TODAY !

The King of Rock n Roll put the Cue in the rack 36 years ago today, many of you will know where you were when the king passed away, some were not even born, but know this is the day that the poor bugger, carked it on the crapper.

The legend that he was, and his memory still lives on as strong as ever and will continue in the world of Rock n Roll.

I saw the newspaper later too and there it was in Black and White for all to see.

"If you can't find a partner, grab a wooden cross." Jailhouse Rock's lyrics could easily be modified for Christian Rock.

I remember where i was, it was a mates country home in a place called Woolpit, in East Anglia, as a bunch of crazy kids, i was sat in my mates mum’s Kitchen, it was the School summer Holiday and we were mucking about as usual and thought it would be cool if we had a pierced ear as that was the cool thing to have done that year.

So, as my mate was trying to persuade a frigging knitting needle to go through my earlobe and the screaming i was doing, all of a sudden stopped when the transistor radio we were listening too ( new kids, look up on Wikipedia what that is) came to a silent moment and them said ” the King is dead!”

A sol-um moment in our time and we could not believe it, Elvis Presley ten toes up?  No way, this cannot be true! But indeed it was.

Found collapsed on the carzy  and had more narcotics in him than the local Chemist, it was a shock to us all.

I remember hearing the news every where, on TV and radio, in the papers on the radio and word of mouth spread like wildfire.

Even at Radio ONE, loads of teds stood in line by the station to show a wee bit of Rock n Roll solidarity at hearing the news of Elvis passing.

So now- 36 years later, he is still remembered as the king Of Rock n Roll, I loved his 50’s and 60’s era and many loved his 70’s and we shall all remember him on this day and I am sure always will, and wanted to just put a little blurb on here for you lot to see and maybe remember where you were on August the 16th 1977.

My old man will- its his Birthday.
