Triumph Slippery Sam looks great

“Slippery Sam” was one of three similar motorcycles initially built by Triumph built for the 1970 Isle of Man Production TT. The bike was created by the engine’s designer, Doug Hele, who joined with frame expert Rob North to produce the successful works Formula 750 race bikes. One of these was ridden by Malcolm Uphill, won the TT at 97.71 mph (157.25 km/h). Other riders included Mick Grant; and in 1971 Percy Tait and Ray Pickrell won the Bol d’Or 24-hour endurance race on a Triumph triple.[4] The motorcycles were prepared for races by Les Williams and his team. (Williams went on to develop the Triumph Legend 964cc). Bert Hopwood urged BSA‘s managers to make a production version of the racing triple, producing 84 bhp (63 kW) at 8,250 rpm – but this suggestion was ignored, partly due to financial concerns.

Further racing development in the USA was carried out at the Duarte, California, facility under Racing Manager Dan Macias. USA BSA/Triumph dealers had access to factory race parts, but due to difficulties in obtaining race frames from the UK, Macias built his own jig and the frames were manufactured by Wenco. The main differences from the factory North frames were TIG welding instead of brazed, flat plate rear engine mounts instead of built-up formed sheet and 4130 Cro-Mo steel material. Dick Mann‘s win at the 1971 Daytona 200 was on a US specification bike.

Many have been Replicated over the years, Love this Trident below as it is just amazing.

But Below is Germanys New answer to it and boy have they done a Bang up job and would love one.

This machine is totally awesome from every angle, I would love to get my leg over this machine and throw it in the corners.

The Avon style fairing is reminiscent of my days in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

Talk about looking down the Barrels of a 12 gauge Shot Gun, these are as nice as a Original Purdy side by side.

Everything Rocks about this bike right down to the front forks and Brembo double Bacon Slicers!

Yes, it says it all right there on the Petrol tank for all to see and Bow too!

Nice styling of the race seat to cover the tail pipes and the stainless exhaust is tighter than a New Shoe!

I would love this in my shop right now!

Just pure class and lovely finishing, makes me envious but in a good way!

Would Love to hear this thing on a cold Morning!      Love the PVM Rims!

Looking forward to adding some Video of this machine so you can all see and hear this awesome Café Racer .

One of these days I hope to change mine to this set up.

That Bird is so Lucky to be able to blap that through the twisties in Germany!

Alloy Swing Arms for Thruxtons

I have been contemplating getting these manufactured for some time now, a couple of years ago I was speaking to a company that with my input, we should be able to manufacture these to the correct specifics and standards to allow the safe use of Aluminum material and of course as these are mechanical parts I want to make sure these are stress relived and comply to all the safety codes and standards that are required.

Also, these will be made from Billet, no sections and you wil be amazed at the strength as they have a unique system that will give you the rigidity you require.

They will be made from 7075 and an Aerospace company is going to help me with the R&D to make sure that all will be safe and of course have a Perfect fit with easy maintenance etc. The R&D will be done by a friend of mine that has made swing arms for over 50 years for TT bikes, Super bikes and Motocross, so a plethora of experience, these will be top quality, the best anywhere.

There are a few companies that make these but I want them to be affordable and also to be made right here in Anaheim California, so now the work begins, but- by the response that I have received, I believe that this will be a fun adventure and I am sure that you will like the finished piece and I will of course show case it on my machine and fit to a track bike to fully test the stress and load of the swing arm to make certain we have everything dialed in.

So stay tuned to this and of course My new website  www.carpyscaferacers.com as we hope to offer many more cool parts for your British ride as well as the good old CB750 as I made them in steel before and were great.

Making affordable parts is the name of the game, I just don’t sell parts, I live this stuff, I have a passion for it, come and see me and I am more than happy to chat.

There are a few of these out there and room for my Brand too and as I have new Motorcycles and of course, now the President of the 59 Club in the O.C. – I want to make more and more parts for the Thruxton, as i ride mine a lot and have many more parts to make for it.

I have a Thruxton and have Triumphs at the shop with Royal Enfields too as well as my CB750 Honda’s, this is a fun time in the Motorcycle fraternity and I hope to continue to offer great parts at great prices. I have been doing this here in California for 15 years and continue to push the envelope for you lot.

Any input is gratefully received, help me and I help you, an easy philosophy!

I shall also be visiting Italy and some of Europe this year so some great opportunities are now becoming reality and want to share that with you, so stay tuned……………

Call me on 714-996-4597 or email me at carpy@carpyscaferacers.com and I will do my utmost to help you out.

T.T. is like a death Race ‘ Says Moto GP’s Scott Redding.

Isle of Man TT is ‘like death race’, says MotoGP’s Scott Redding

MotoGP’s Scott Redding will not appear in Friday’s Isle of Man TT parade lap after describing the event as “like a death race” after two riders died.

Bob Price, 65, from Redding’s hometown of Gloucester, was killed in an accident during the first Supersport race on 2 June.

Three-time British champion Karl Harris, 34, died in a crash on Tuesday.

Redding, 21, said on Twitter:  “This is not racing anymore. It’s like a death race. Lost too many friends.”

He added: “All the riders that finish are relieved to finish in one piece and see their loved ones.

“This is not racing anymore. It’s like death race, all the riders that finish are relieved to finish in one piece and see their loved ones. Lost too many friends.”

“The bikes are far too advanced for road racing nowadays. Would you drive your car at 132mph through a village?”

Clerk of the course, Gary Thompson, told BBC Isle of Man: “Scott has his own views, as have many other people, but it’s not something that I can comment on as those are his private views.

“I’ve heard people say that the TT is too dangerous, we are aware that the speed of bikes is getting faster, but each year we carry out a full risk assessment of the whole TT course.

“That includes the prohibited and restricted areas where we restrict officials and spectators from going into the most dangerous parts of the course. This is carried out on an annual basis and is an ongoing improvement throughout the year.”

In a statement confirming his withdrawal, Redding paid a special tribute to Price – a close family friend who had been involved in his racing career, which has seen him rise from Moto2 to MotoGP in four years.

“He was one of the few people outside of my immediate family who supported me when I started out racing. I will miss him, as will many others in our racing family,” said Redding.

“Then yesterday, we heard the tragic news that Karl Harris had also lost his life. Karl and Bob are both guys that I know and their deaths have hit me harder than I expected. Honestly, I’m devastated.

“And that’s why I won’t be at the TT on Friday, not because I have anything against the Isle of Man TT, but because I prefer to mourn Bob in the places where I knew him best, not the place where he was taken from us.

“I wish all the competitors on the Island safe racing.”

This is not racing anymore. It’s like death race, all the riders that finish are relieved to finish in one piece and see their loved ones. Lost too many friends. Scott Redding on Twitter

Isle Of Man T. T. Officially Starts TODAY!

How can you not like the T.T. ? This is the most dangerous race in the world on a motorcycle and I love every minute of it, I have been there when i was a teenager and loved the place.
but hope to go another day and ride the 37 miles and enjoy all the cool sections of the Island, but for now, I will watch on tv and of course on theit website for live lap times etc.

Cool Rockers Videos

Well, MONDAY already- So to ease the day in, I thought I would add some video’s that I watched over the Sunday, this really is just a amalgamation of videos from people and it shows some very cool early 1960’s Videos of Rockers on their bike at places like Box hill etc and banging the Ton on a busy A- Road back home in the UK.

Other videos have Rockers in the Uk and cover to the other side of the Globe in Hong Kong.

The Cafe Racer scene has grown and grown and it is a good thing, Motorcycling has become fun again and the camaraderie has also returned.

Make a cup of Tea, sit down and just spend a few moments watching some of the videos, there is some very cool footage here and I am sure that you will enjoy at least one of them.

Have a great week and enjoy…………..
