Diamond in the Rough, Or is that the other way round?

Well, you hear me rant and rave about the old “Snotters” that are stored away in places from the 1970’s and every now and again they turn up.

Well, here is a prime example of something from Snottsville.

This bike was pulled out of storage and has been sat “untouched”  Bit like me….  For many many moons.

This is a prime example of what was about for the home garage builder on a budget and to be honest, a cool piece of history, in fact this took best of show when it got entered, as it is un molested from that era, I was sent this by a buddy of mine, and I had to blog this as I am sure some of you lot out there, can relate to this look back in the day.

Check this little Honda that got the ” Chopper” bug back in the day, it is so funny to look at now, but- back in the day, this kid was as proud as punch to be cruising the tarmac to show off his ” Wheazy Rider ”

Over the last decade, I have seen many old style Choppers and it always makes me smile, you had to be quite the rider too as many of these were almost impossible to ride in traffic.

Sunday Morning, Heading to Dana Point. California

Well, I am heading down to Dana Point this morning, to go and check out some real classic steel and to get out of the workshop for a bit, as you lot will know, spending time in the workshop for too long, well you get stir crazy,. I need to stretch my legs and go and look at some cool stuff that Southern California always seems to have going on.

Holy Moly !

I wasn’t expecting Motorcycles at the show, but I was so stoked to see some of my top 10 favorites attend this great show, and the day was superb, sun, sickles and, well more sun to be honest, and I was baking like a Cup Cake wars contestant.

But check this out!!!!!!!!

How awesome is this shot? Exhausting I know but I really have had a passion for the MV Augusta and there were 2 at the show that i was dribbling over, and am sure glad that I attended the show, although Thirty five bones was a bit steep to be able to have a look at some of this Classic Iron, still- it got me out of the shop.

Before the Sun got too hot, i thought I would have a quick look around, as people started to pour in like ants on a picnic table, so I did my best to look at some cool stuff and take a couple of shots for the blog.

The Beeza was jut what the Doctor ordered this morning, as I have not seen one of these since I was 15 years old and used to hitch hike to Snetterton race track on a cold Sunday morning.

Well here we go with the Crazy 2 stroke, this would pull my own arms off and then beat me with them if I attempted to ride this monster. ” Ring -A -Ding-Ding-Ding !

The rear end is something to see, if only they had a chance or section, where you could hear them fire up, as them expansion chambers would cackle all day if I had the choice, and- of course, the Smell of Castrol R fumes is the cherry on the cake.

Here is something I never knew, I saw this really cool trials bike, something I loved as a kid too, but, never knew Ducati made a trials bike, so was really taken back when I saw this on the display and was sure glad to see it in real life too, I loved this machine.

I want one so bad, I think i’d even buy Rosetta Stone to learn the lingo too if I had to. it is just Classic Ducati and just love all the lines on this Trials bike.

So I was having a super morning and its worth taking a risk and checking on shows local to you, as you really do not know what is there until you actually attend.

Another MV Augusta that was a Classic racer and boy Does red look sharp under the Sun at Dana Point.

So many cool rides but people started to heard in and taking photo’s was getting tough there, so had to flock off to some other area, but a great morning just to look at these really cool machines that are restored to the nine’s.

If you can make it to Dana point next year, its worth while for sure.

First Service & What A Rare Egg!

Not many of these left around. This bike is a 1962 owned by a collector this bike is in wonderful original condition. It stopped into the shop today for a service and some carb work. This was a great way to start the new service department.

Moto Parilla S.p.A. of Milan, Italy was founded in 1946 by Giovanni Parrilla (1912—1968), and specialized in the production of two-stroke and four-stroke, 50cc to 350cc motorcycles, three-wheelers, and industrial generators between 1946 and 1965. Moto Parilla introduced the 4-stroke, 175cc chain-driven OHC “high-cam” (camme rialzata) engine in 1953, produced 20hp, and used in the Parilla GS (Gran Sports), Lusso Veloce, MSDS, Speedster, Sport Speciale, and Wildcat Scrambler. Displacement in later versions was increased to 200cc and 250cc, utilizing a gear-driven cam. Parrilla based the design of his first high-cam racers on the Norton Manx.

Live Around Orange? You Know This Truck!

If you live around the Old Town Orange Area, there is little chance you have not seen our buddy Paul, driving around town. We had the pleasure of his visit this weekend and where lucky enough to take a little of his time to show off his truck, and pose it with our own shop truck. Paul’s truck, I should mention for all of you that don’t know is a daily driver. The truck is fitted with a small block Chevy, a Th350 trans and a Polished Jag IRS rear end. Other improvements include a unisteer system, Lokar Shifter and a Limeworks Hood strap kit that really sets off this great little truck. He has been seen wondering around town with everything from a Christmas tree in the back to City Council ads. In my opinion I can’t think of Orange without thinking of that cute little green truck zipping through the Orange Circle.
