1966 Honda CL77 Honda 305 FOR SALE only 972 Miles

Here we have the last of Honda’s 305 models, which began with the dry-sump CA76 in 1959, moving on to the wet-sump CA77 Dream in 1960, then the CB77 Super Hawk in ’61, and finally, the model we are dealing with here, the CL77 Honda.

I have had this in bits and pieces and a box of unmarked parts and thought that at least I will fit the motor and see how this old girl looks, I mean, she is now 58 years old and cool to see this in a rolling condition.  The motor turns over with lots of compression. The old guy I got it off a while ago now has had it from New and it has had many changes in color, the owner powder coated it this color for some reason but its a cool looking ride that can easily be finished off to whatever you want in your style.

I just have way too many bikes here at the Barn and with 15 more builds to try and complete, I think its time I offer this up to people for a great price of $800 !!!

Thats a great deal and has paper work and license plate etc the brakes work, new tires as well, a fun bike, even to park in a shop or on top of a table, as its a superb focal point.

Have a look and see what you think, I was contemplating just sticking it up on the wall but, I have so many things to do I think its a shame not to let this go and someone can easily finish this as all the parts are there.

I am in Southern California, so you would have to arrange shipping if you are out of state , but you get a lot of bike for that money and the original License plate too with original tags on it, very rare indeed, plus those exhausts are super hard to find these days too.

The motor was a very decent piece of work, the aluminum crankcase split horizontally so the oil contained had no way to leak. When Honda had originally developed the motor in the ’50s, the C75 being on the Japanese market in 1956, it had a dry sump, the oil in its own container, like the English bikes. But that soon changed to the wet-sump concept, requiring less plumbing—always a good idea.

The CL powerplant was very similar to the CB’s. The parallel twin’s 180-degree crankshaft had four bearings, a ball on the left end and three rollers, with needle bearings on the connecting rods. Keep them all lubricated and that crank could happily go 100,000 miles. The cylinder barrels were alloy, using cast iron liners and alloy heads, with two valves per cylinder. None of this pushrod nonsense, as a single overhead camshaft powered by a chain running between the two cylinders did all the work. With an externally adjustable tensioner. A pair of 26mm Keihin carbs, with excellent air cleaners, put the gas in the combustion chambers, to be compressed 9.5 times. Sparks were provided by an ignition system that employed an automatic advance mechanism, coming to full advance at some 3,300 rpm. Spin that baby to 9,000 rpm, and the better part of 28 horsepower could be found at the end of the crankshaft. A single-row primary chain ran the horses to a wet clutch, then through four gears, the main shaft running on pressure-fed ball bearings, and out on the right side to a final chain drive.

The CL frame was quite different from the CB’s. Since the Super Hawk was not expected to go bouncing over rocks and logs it had a tubular backbone frame running from steering head to swingarm pivot, with the engine actually suspended, having a short pair of arms connecting the cylinder heads with the frame. Honda techs, figuring the Scrambler might well get quite a number of hard knocks, created a loop frame, with a single front downtube splitting in two so as to cradle the engine and provide a place for a good skid plate. And also wiping out the electric starter, which had been just in front of the CB’s cylinders, but had to be removed to allow for the downtube. No worries, as it was an easy kick-starter—if the rider used the proper amount of choke.

The Scrambler had a curb weight of 337 pounds and a wheelbase of 52.4 inches. Suspension was average, with a booted telescopic fork at the front, preload-adjustable shock absorbers at the back. Travel was not even 4 inches, so the bounceability was limited. The wheels were 19 inchers, shod with what was then called “universal” tires, which were far happier on the road than struggling in loose terrain. Early models had a small drum brake with a double leading shoe on the front wheel, and equally small single leading shoe on the back. The brakes worked OK, but without the force of the Super Hawk’s, as the engineers seemed a mite concerned with a rider applying a bit too much pressure while on a dirt surface. They were enlarged on the later models.

The 40-tooth sprocket on the rear wheel meant high speed touring was certainly not this model’s forte. The silver-paint gas tank held a little less than 3 gallons, with knee grips; the side covers were color matched. Ivory-painted or chromed fenders showed off the painted frame, the latter in black, blue or red. The early version had a long, skinny, high-up dual-straight-pipe exhaust running out the left side, which could make a hellacious noise; soon the system had a small muffler at the far end.

One magazine called the CL77 a “gentleman’s Classic,” and a gentleman should not be found wallowing in deep mud or struggling in a sandy stretch. Leave the genuinely rough stuff to the ungentlemanly types. This is not to denigrate the bike, which was built not to win races but to appeal both to the sporting types and to those who might be interested in some minor off-pavement excursions. And it worked, selling quite well in the increasingly competitive marketplace.

But after the better part of 10 years with the 305, Honda thought it necessary to move on…with the even better 350 model.

As you can see, I have the Original License Plate and you can see the original tags when he had it in 1976, thats a rare plate for sure.

I also have the original registration paperwork as its still in the documents tube that was affixed to the plate, you can clearly see 1966 model on there.

Very unique to find these days and for 800 clams, that’s a steal for sure.

Also, this is the real mileage too, only ridden locally so no miles at all to be honest.

FOR SALE : 1977 CB550F SOLD – SOLD -SOLD -SOLD- SOLD

Geoffrey Chaucer once said ” Time and Tide wait for no man.”  And to be honest, he is right, I have many pokers in many fires and as we moved to a bigger place with my very own workshop, I thought some of my stuff in storage can go to others, as I have a lot of things to build, finish and design.

So here it is:

A 1977 CB550F Super Sport HONDA FOUR Project of which I have had for quite some time in my storage container.

This bike is rolling and I also have the Pink Slip and the numbers all match up too.

Still needs finishing but all the hard work is done to be honest and would make a fun Bar hopper or parts runner when completed.

The Motor was rebuilt, needs a sprocket cover as we cant seem to find the old one, but there are many things on here.

Here is a list or two,

This will make a great project for someone and is priced really well to sell, I also look forward to seeing it completed and on the road sometime very soon too.

It sits so very well and that’s how I envisioned this build when I started to acquire parts for the inline four Honda.

I have always liked the Old School Diamond treaded tires, they are not cheap as well and this makes such a good deal for a client out there as there are many cool parts on this ride as you can see by the photos I just took today.

This Motor has a Stainless Steel 304 grade Four Into 1 set up and that this style is a frame hugging design that I think will turn heads when it fires up.

Just look at them Chunky tires, this really is a great looking ride and it will travel along the gravel very smoothly indeed.

It has a set of Piggy Back shocks on the rear to set the Arse just right for them tall tires.

Still needs things like a drive chain and a front sprocket but this is all easy stuff to be honest.

These little 550 bikes are a great powerhouse and will surprise many people when you get this on the tarmac.

Has a 5-3/4 steel headlight with an LED set up that is brighter than Einstein.

I put on expensive handlebars and these really do feel super comfortable and no wrist ache what so ever, also fitted early 1970’s Race throttle and grips for an added bit of Nostalgia.

So here she is, like I said, I have the PINK SLIP-TITLE for this and the Numbers match, so a cool deal for someone out there.

Thanks for looking and Maybe you can pass this along to some of your friends, you will notice the Original speed equipped finned Points cover too?

The Scrambler takes its inspiration from those old Triumph ISDT machines that were once famously ridden by Steve McQueen with its classic styling dominated by twin high-level exhausts, designed to provide maximum ground clearance on rough terrain.

The design of the bike is pretty old school, only adding to its modern-day appeal. The utilitarian style is highlighted by the two simple single-color options, with a new Matte Black option joining the popular military-style Matte Khaki Green. Likewise, the spoked wheels with lightly knobbed tires, high footrests, rugged fork gaiters and wide, off-road style handlebars give a further nod to the Scrambler’s off-road heritage. Then there are items such as headlight grills, skid plate, and number boards, all of which adds even further resemblance to the ISDT models of the 60’s.

Powering the Scrambler is a unique version of Triumph’s 865cc parallel-twin engine. Designed outwardly to look like a classic 1960s twin, this DOHC eight-valve unit is a low-maintenance modern engine developed to meet the most stringent emissions regulations.

The fuel-injected twin delivers a laid-back output of 58 brake horsepower and 50 lb/ft of torque at just 4,750 rpm, making the Scrambler a versatile ride that can tackle a number of riding conditions. With its 270-degree crankshaft, the Scrambler takes on a totally different character to the other models in Triumph’s classic range, producing a totally addictive off-beat soundtrack which can be cranked up a notch and enjoyed just like those old mavens that used to run wild on the roads and highways of the world.

1972 SOHC Vesco Honda for sale $5000

Well, I start this bike up every couple of days and smile, it sure is a fun bike that I out together from parts I had in storage, some rare, and of course, I purchased the bike of the famous Vesco family, grandson Larry – who is who I got it from and what a great Motorcycle family they are.

Anyway- this bike is available for anyone, its not a show bike but with some work and TLC it can easily be, if I strip it, paint frame, chrome and put back together, then thats $15K, so your choice, right now it is available at $5000.

Has a ton of cool parts and will add a little list again later. But the Lester Rims I reemoved from a CR750 Race bike, these are getting rare to locate and can spend big dollars for a set for your machine these days.

Has my Custom 4 into 1 Exhaust system with a cool aggressive kick out that is Baffled and barks like a hungry dog, this is a Hot Rod Muscle machine that has a lot of character.

It sits nicely and has Custom rear shocks to soak up the bumps via SRC and they sure do, sits on an old set of Bridgestone tires and is comfortable to ride to be honest.

The seat is made by me and has memory foam and then covered in soft leather and then Diamond stitched with twine and it really is a soft seat seat up compared to many who get it wrong.

This bike cackles nicely with my Custom 4 into 1 System, and I was glad that I made that choice, the pipe is ceramic coated in a titanium and I shortened the tail pipe to give it an aggressive stance, then added the Nickel plated Baffle in the end of it, it kicks out just right for this Custom Machine.

I start this bike when ever I go in the garage and love the cackle of this pipe and the overall rumble that the bike makes, its the perfect height for me to ride too as she has a 19 inch front and 18 inch rear.

I have a title and this is available as is for $5000 right now, but , if I do more work, then obviously the price goes up, Lights work, starter works, Horn even works too, brake lights too, all gears are super smooth and a fun ride.

I may add a front fender if I continue to work on this bike as it will look cool with a tight front bobbed fender I think and of course, stop any crap hitting you in the melon when riding.

What a Blast this is, not too many times I have jumped on a bike and smile every time, but this one is just a great alrounder and enjoy its smooth linear power delivery to be honest.

let me know if you are interested. 714-598-8392 and have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow as I know I shall.

Thank you for taking your time to have a look at my recent build, share it around with friends who may be interested as its a great deal for sure.

This is when I first fired it up last week, had not run since the mid 1980’s, a great feeling.

VESPA PRIMA VERA SMALL BODY RUNS GREAT $2500 (S-O-L-D)

Well, here we are with a vintage Prima Vera I got for my Girlfriend some years back, she now has a Triumph Bonneville and time to thin the herd a little and this is a good deal for someone out there who loves these Italian Classic. SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD

This little Small Body Vespa is the last of the Cool Models as it doesnt have the ugly later turn signals, its all hand signals, this also was a 50cc and now is a Fully Rebuilt 130cc Engine that buzzes along quite happily.

Another good thing is that this is not a Three speed, its the early 4 speed hand shift, its also the American Export Model as the left side has a opening compartment.

This is all running and rides well for a scooter, it needs no battery either and runs pretty strong. 4th gear is great to have on this machine and easy to transition through gears.

It is painted Tiffany Blue in that 1960’s style and had White Wall tires as well as a Vintage Leopard print seat to offset the Tiffany Blue livery.

Great for round town or just the collector, fires right up and is a good little Prima Vera with bags of character.

It’s a little too small and out of character for me but many love this Scooter and here it is available for $2500 right now.

I am sure that if you are looking at this right now, you know somebody that may be interested and show them this and see what they think.

It is no show winner but a ridden bike thats fun to ride and these are holding their value pretty good these days.

Buy it to ride for fun, get you to work, college or just keep in a Retro shop, it is for sure a head turner.

Something from back in the day with bags of history and many people tend to smile and reminisce with these little Italian Scooters.

Drop me a line if you need more information or photos, this is located in La Mirada California.

Would make a fun gift for someone in your family that likes Vintage Vespa’s.

Thanks for looking, you can call or text on 714-598-8392 for more information.

TRIUMPH 900 THRUXTON 2014 FOR SALE BRITISH RACING GREEN $5,500

Here we are with a British Racing Green Triumph Thruxton 900 Motorcycle for sale, this is a super fun machine with only 6500 Miles on the clock and makes for a super deal for some one out there. $5,500.

The bike is all stock and is a fun machine that starts right on the button, you can ride as is or customize it to your own tastes etc, it rides like a Cadillac and the gear shifting is such a smooth transition, so easy to ride and many girls are using these bikes as they are not heavy compared to the Japanese machines and sit lower too.

I purchased it from a Customer that was moving and thought I would offer it on here as many people ask me about the bikes for sale.

So-.when a manufacturer reproduces a classic look while blessing it with contemporary technology?

Well, I do, so you can imagine my delight when I laid eyes on the  Thruxton 900 from Triumph. From the bullet front fairing, across the knee-dent fuel tank to the tail fairing, this bike embodies the 1960’s cafe’ racer vibe, and Triumph furthers this historical connection by naming this model after the famed Thruxton Race Track. Best of all, the retro good looks are backed up by subtle improvements, such as the fuel injectors hidden in the ’carburetors’ and disc brakes instead of the old drums, among others that I will touch on later. Overall, the factory designed this bike to serve as a daily commuter/weekend burner with a liberal dose of nostalgia added.

YEAR: 2014   Make: TRIUMPH  Model: THRUXTON :

Engine: Air Cooled- DOHC: Transmission: 5 Speed: Horsepower RPM : 68@7400:  Torque @ RPM: 51@5800: Displacement: 865cc

Fuel Consumption MPG: In Town – 43:  On Highway 57
Triumph kept many of the design aspects from the original, Bonneville-based cafe’ racers of the 1960s, at least in spirit.
A small bullet fairing protects the headlamp nacelle and the handlebar-mounted gauges, but little else as it is not quite as large as what the ’old boys’ ran back in the day.
The fuel tank is the classic design that actually has the knee dents in it, yet it still manages to hold 4.2 gallons of fuel, which puts the capacity just below that of purpose-built tour bikes.
I love that they used this tank, because I always feel a bit cheated when I see a ’Trumpet’ out and about, and upon closer inspection discover that the “dents” are actually a painted-on effect. Rear-fairing design is also true to history with the classic, tapered rear over-the-fender design. Personally, I have always preferred the fenderless style, but I have to concede that this design has a more practical function during road use. I have personally owned Three Triumph Thruxton’s and they sure are a blast to ride.

Wheel design provided Triumph with another opportunity to blend aesthetics and function. The factory started with aluminum rims to keep the unsprung weight low, and then graced them with chromed wire spokes.

I always have liked laced wheels (except when they are on the truing stand!), and these certainly add another touch of class to an already classy bike. Dual-piston Nissin calipers work with the single 320 mm front and 255 mm rear brake discs, and while I can appreciate Triumph wanting to keep the wheels as clean as possible, I think that I would prefer to have dual front brakes.

Having said that, with a curb weight of only 507 pounds this brake configuration should be sufficient to provide ample control of the bike.

The factory used 41 mm KYB front forks with chrome KYB adjustable shocks in the rear, with over four inches of travel at both ends to soak up the bumps and shocks of the road before your kidneys do. With an overall length of 84.6 inches and a 58.6-inch wheelbase, this bike is kept within the rather compact outer dimensions established by earlier cafe’ racers.

The beating heart of the bike will look familiar to old-school Triumph fans, like a page torn from history. An 865 cc, air-cooled, DOHC, parallel-twin engine generates 68 horsepower and 51 pound-feet of torque, and does it while maintaining that classic look established by its predecessors and meeting the stringent requirements for the Euro 3 emissions rating. Part of this is due to the electronic fuel-injection system cleverly hidden away within the ’carburetor’ throttle bodies. I think the carburetor camouflage is a nice touch, and I applaud Triumph for spending the money to design function around form to keep the engine/carb/airbox area looking as faithful as possible.

This engine, coupled with the five-speed transmission, delivers a reported mileage of 43 mpg in the city and 57 mpg at 56 mph, or slightly slower than typical U.S. interstate speeds. Good mileage and the 4.2 gallon tank means that you can pass the gas stations with confidence whether you are burning up the roads around town or stretching your legs (figuratively, please note footpeg position!) on the interstate for a weekend jaunt.

Above, this bike shows the actual low mileage, the bike fires right up, runs smooth and is all stock factory parts on this 900, easy to ride and maneuver.

The Bikini Front fairing keeps the bugs and buffeting away from you and also gives it that Yesteryear look of the Classic Cafe racers of the day running from The Busy Bee Cafe to the Ace.

A Great bike for the money, pay and ride off into the sunset.  714-598-8392 call or text me if you are interested in this 2014 Triumph Thruxton. Have Title in hand.

$5,500 Out the Door.

This is my personal Motorcycle , I’m going to be buying a New Machine to Ride with my Girl and my Cafe Bike is now Available.

Handles great in corners and will be missed for sure.
Been riding up by Grand Canyon and JOSHUA Tree as well as many other places . Been in magazines and some TV stuff and even movie ads.
Classic look with Polished Alloy Parts everywhere . If you like Nostalgia, then here it is with a Capital N.

Many people know this bike and she rides really smoothly, the gear transition is smooth and direct, it has strong linear power due to different sprocket set up and of course it has the power Commander, and the air injection removed, the Zard Pipes make her breathe oh so well.

Wave Rotors help slow it down with Custom Berringer 4 pot Caliper at the front is a great set up that is way better than the stock version, I also designed and made the rear Caliper bracket to change the Rear caliper from a bottom mount to a top one, so at least they both look the Status Quo and do not get cluttered up with leaves and road grime like the factory ones do.

Has a Bigger polished Alloy Motone Gas tank which is a couple of Pints wider and allows for more miles of smiles, I ride it pretty hard and it has tons of Go in her and with them Custom Canyon TT alloy Rims, all that rubber grips the road and gives you so much more maneuverability than the skinny stock rims.

The rear wheel is 5.5 inches wide with a nice 170 rear tire of which I am fitting a Brand New one this week.

New Leather Seat with Diamond stitching and a hand made rear Allow cowl that has a secret compartment to keep all ya fear in like gloves, goggles, paper work, scarf and tools, of which I use it to store all the time is a bonus here as its so useful. And was the First to Fit a Fog Light set up as I wanted that Old School European look to the bike and have sold maybe 200 of them Fog Light kits since, Be seen is my Philosophy.

I also frenched a LED teardrop Tail light, it functions as a Running light and a Brake light and its nice and Bright, looks fantastic, also have LED Turn signals front and back to make sure people see which way you are going.

Steering stabilzer at the front soaks up unwanted potholes and the clip on’s are a good fit for the triple tree, I have Custom Grips to so your hands do not tire as well as Custom Mirrors to let you know who is behind you. But also notice I have Works performance shocks, these were $1500 alone and the pipes were another $1500 as well as $3000 for the wheel set up.

I also changed out the headlight for a 7 inch chrome one and fitted a 6000 Lumens LED bulb and the headlight has LED internal signals that change from clear to amber when you hit the button.

Alloy Side cover, and a hand made alloy Bash plate complete the Livery of this TT style machine really well.

I stripped the stock swing arm and changed it about, drilled the holes and inserted strengthening tubes in the side and then chromed the whole thing and boy does it look cool and sets off that big rear wheel. I also designed and made the Knuckle Duster Heel Guard and have sold many over sea’s, these look great.

it has form and function and the Zard pipes are stainless and from Italy, they sound awesome as it is now tuned and with the power commander she is great in any elevation too.

I have done almost 12,000 Miles on the bike and she runs pretty hard, I always use expensive Motul Oil for her as thats what Triumph use, I know its $70 a gallon but I want Longevity out of this engine, no cheap oil for the sake of saving money, good oil and regular services keep this running right. I also only use Triumph Oil Filters and iridium Spark plugs, this has K&N Filters too.

This bike has a lot of character and gets many looks, if I had a bigger Garage I would keep her but, with a few more bikes and a Hot Rod, I simply cannot justify keeping her covered up and it needs a new home.

Here is a list of things that I have done or fitted to the bike below.

A great Motorcycle that always has made me smile, many many times, but I am looking at a different style machine and this is a good opportunity for someone to enjoy a purpose built cafe racer.

It runs great, no oil leaks and is comfortable too. You can email me on carpy@carpyscaferacers.com or you can text or call me on 714-598-8392.

New ceramic Bronze Exhaust systems now available

Well, I have now added this great Custom Burnt Bronze metallic ceramic Coating color to the 4 into 1 Exhaust systems we make, this is a superb Custom application that really enhances the look of your two wheeled machine and wanted to show you how great this looks.

Its almost a Metallic look and I love the way it looks and this is a New look for Exhaust systems and wanted to offer this color on the systems we manufacture here in California.

We ship Globally and this is a 2 piece set up so easier to fit and cheaper to ship as well.

I am glad to offer this Color to you and you simply go to the exhaust page and chose the Ceramic Color you would like, be it Burnt Bronze, Black or Silver, as well as Raw Steel or a show version of Stainless Steel.

These also come with a Chromed removable Baffle and what is good about my systems is that if you wanted to, you could cut the tail pipe down to the length you lie and the baffle will still fit.

So if you are looking for a Custom Exhaust for your inline four from 1969-1978 SOHC Honda or even the DOHC version, we make them here and offer them to you in different finishes.

Our systems flow and Perform, over 1500 systems sold around the globe and over 18 years in business, love doing this and we get great feedback and many repeat customers too.

Thanks for looking, I love this Color and look forward to seeing it on other Customers machines, let me know if I can help.
