The Rice Boiler – 1974 Honda CB750K

OK, for a long time I had been planning this build and now it is here and I am so stoked the way that the machine turned out.

I used a snotty old bike to create this head spinning machine and had already built it in my mind hundreds of time, so thus was really a piece of cake for me.

I had an old set of Henry Abe 7 Star rims back in the UK, these are at least 3 decades old and had them sent over the water from back home and wanted to take them apart and fit new front and rear bearings, as well as paint the stars and polish the outers.

Once I chose New rubber for it ( Bridgestones ) I then made sure I had the rear brake set up drilled and polished, as I want the bike to stand out in many places.

I had a S.S. tank and cut all the top flap out and welded that in with a flat plate, then fitted a Stainless Steel polished Monza style racing Gas cap in it.

I then used one of opur own designed “Razorback” seat bases, As I really do love the lines of thaat seat base and knew this would really flow and give that yesteryear look.

I bead blasted the old frame and then powder coated a high gloss full flow Black on it and love the look, almost an enamel look to it and very inert to many fuels and substances.

If you look, you can see our New battery boxes we now make and offer on our website, this is the ww2 style battery box made from 6061 Aluminum and has cool rivets in.

I removed the old Oil tank and we washed that about 7 times and then cleaned out with some simple green, then stripped the paint, had it copper-ed, then chromed and buffed. you can see i was also setting up the rear sets and polished the brackets to give a Chrome finish.

I designed this color scheme by drawing this out on graph paper and used water colors and came out with this design, the reason that I came out to this conclusion is simple.   My old man always ran down anything to do with Japanese machines, and as I was a teenager in the 1970’s,  Japanese bikes were predominant in all parts of the globe and the old man just looked down on them and called them “Rice Boilers”

So That’s why I named this bike “Rice Boiler”

She was fun to build and I am so stoked at the reaction it gets from people when they first see the bike.

I had a few people just stand there and just keep looking at it, as this bike did not start off like this.

I really enjoy the putting everything together part as you see such a transformation.

The Racing number 74 is really just the year of the bike but I wanted this to remind me of days gone passed when I used to hitch hike to Clubman Racing at Snetterton track and getting a lift on one of these bikes.

There are so many things that I have done to this bike, I should of named it the Magician as it is loaded with tricks. the lower forks are polished to a Chrome finish and all rebuilt, etc., and we hand-drill these rotors at the shop, then surface grind and polish them, looks cool eh?

I hand-hammered the gas tank as I do on all my bikes and wanted to use the Rising Sun as the filler, and boy does it pop!

The finned covers are early 70’s ones I have kept for this particular bike build, I must of had them 12 yeas in my tool box and so glad i got to get them on the Motor .

The red is very bold and I chose an Aztec style gold for the pin line, the whole paint scheme was completed using House of Kolor and I chose a Candy Rootbeer Brown as that was a cool Candy Color that Honda had back in 1971 and wanted to try and get that old School feel to it.

I actually incorporated  the neutral light into the head stock nut and think that it will be a cool addition to this ride and make use of the new lights we sell.

New Old Stock handlebar controls were a must, we used one of our polished throttle embellishers and some very cool flake handlebar grips, as well as new alloy levers, etc.

You can see how many brand new or rechromed parts I have fitted to this machine, by just glancing at the photos on this page.

The Ggold flake on the grips really do make the colors blend with the gold of the bike and the shocks.

I wanted to have the race number on there, as well as incorporate the year of manufacture, and it came out really well.

I fitted new old stock fork ears and made our front fork badges t0 fit the sides where the original ugly reflectors sat and it cheered the machine up.

Yes- that is our very own Boxed Swingarm that we drilled and powder coated and really does suit this machine well, as well as helps the cornering as it stops all the rear end stepping out, this is a copy of my Original Dresda swingarm.

Our Stainless Steel Yoshimura-style 4-into-1 exhaust is a very cool sounding and looking set up and is a must with the style of machine that I create, by does it hang well.

You can see the work it took to make the tank look great, also the GPS speedometer is a cool look, but the bracket and the bucket we had to make and polish, it all worked out fine in the end and even though this was not a cheap option, I think its the cherry on the cake.

The headlight is from an old Desoto truck and then changed a little, it looks great with the Candy Rootbeer brown on it and the bezel was re-chromed.

Pretty Much everything is new on the build and am so happy to have gotten this machine done to the way I originally imagined, it screams out to you that this is an old cafe racer from back in the 70’s and I hope you like looking at her!

I tend to use Bridgestones as my personal choice of rubber on the rims I use, as I have always had them and stuck with what I know.

I spent a lot of time getting this bike right and many, many hours taking things off that didn’t work that you will never see, but thats how it goes with bike building and at the end of the day I have a really cool looking classic that is bound to turn a head or two.

I took the old broken and cracked fins off the original oil filter housing and machined and polished it and this is how she comes out. I do this to a lot of my creations, it adds a unique look.

Fitted our Finned Aluminum Ton Up Stabilizer Bar and the whole rear end is new, Brake Spring, Rod and Adjuster, no expense spared on this build.

A fun machine that is something that was made from old snot, rust and cold steel, also so nice to be able to recycle this and get it changed into another form.

I have already had a lot of interest in this machine and will let it go for the right price – this is a unique motorcycle with many, many new parts and one off pieces.

Within two days of finishing this motorcycle, I got it featured in Japan’s Lightning magazine, what a honor that was.

This bike did take a long while to complete, but I changed quite a few things on this until I was happy with the end result. Sometimes that is what happens with custom bike builds- I like this, and some of you may not. But to me, this is a cool machine that just screams out the bikes of the 70’s when I was a teenager in the United Kingdom.

I drilled the brake hub, the rotor and (of course) the front sprocket cover, as that’s my signature style I like to do, but I also had a very cool license plate frame that I have had for donkey’s years and was so stoked to have the opportunity to use it on this bike.

If this does not say cafe racer, then I don’t know what does – it’s an original piece that I am happy I didn’t discard over the years.

The tank took me some time to hammer and weld, but I wanted to incorporate the Rising Sun in the knee inserts and I am glad I did as it really does add a great concept to the bike.

Quite a few coats of Candy Root Beer brown were applied over the Aztec Gold and the end result is exactly the color that I envisioned.

No stickers, this is all real paint you see and I think you will agree, this really does stand out from many that just have decals.

A good stance for this tarmac eating machine.

I used rear sets which gives the bike a well-balanced feel, as the stock pegs are too far forward.

Our Boxed Swingarm and one off Chromed Chain Guard is a good component that i wanted to use on this bike. the Boxed Swingarm was made at the shop using 2X1 steel and it looks and works really well.

All the cases are hand-polished, the starter is rebuilt and the carbs are like new now. This bike runs smooth as we synchronize them using a Mercury stick.

The carbs have to be right on this machines, if you do not sync them they will pop and backfire, something you don’t want to have happening.

The front brake caliper was stripped and polished and our machined stainless steel piston fitted. We also have new side stands to stop the bikes from laying over too much. The originals had a tendency to bend over time. The DeSoto headlight and cool Chromed Diamond Signals, tell people what is going on in front of them.

Stainless Steel Flip-top Monza-style Gas Cap we sell was used on my tank, as well as our own ‘Ton Up’ Fork Badges.

New cables throughout (throttle, tachometer, speedometer and clutch cables) and new adjuster and stainless bolts all over the machine make this a long lasting ride.

I used a Ford big block connecting rod to use as an exhaust hanger. Once it was the right size and fitting, we chromed it and added this nice custom touch to the build.

I didn’t like the stock oil tank dipstick, so we machined a col finned cap for it and boy does it look trick, we shall be making more now to offer to you lot.

See how that cap makes everything flow that has fins on it, I really am happy how this came out, we used 6061 T6 Aluminum and then polished it.

The bucket below we made from a solid piece of  7075  and it came out so nice, tig welded the base and polished it, the bucket attaches by 3 small Allen head screws that sit at the front of the plate.

I wanted to combine new and old components to clean the top of the steering area up and it does look really tidy and clean now.

This was a fun build and I hope that you liked looking at the good Old ” Rice Boiler ” I can hear my Grumpy old man moaning about it right now!

I have already been featured in Japans’ leading Lifestyle magazine and have just had an Italian magazine come over to shoot it and hopefully a brit mag the month after, so I must be doing something right! Interested parties, please contact us for details.

My Exhaust Sights & Sounds.

Many people ask about my systems and what they sound like, so, armed with an Iphone I had a go at having some recorded for you to listen to.

australia1
Below is a 4 into 1 system for a CB350 Honda, and man is it a crisp set up, Customer loved it.

Footage is not good but a chap came by as he fitted my 4 into 1 on his DOHC Honda and loved it.

Below is a CB750 with a raw steel exhaust system of mine fitted.

I have sold over 1000 Of my exhaust systems, been doing this over 17 years and love it.

Oh yeah, these not only breathe well, listen to how crisp they responce is on the throttle, this bike had not run in over 20 years, so changed oil and gas, fitted my 4 into 1 and she ran really well.

Below is a few pics of bikes with the systems on, love what I do and so glad you chose a product made right here in California.

New 4 into 1 Exhausts for the 500 and 550 Honda available soon

Pleased to announce a New style of 4 into 1 system for the good old Honda inline Four CB500 and the CB550, something I am happy to offer and many people asked me about.

sidewinder550h

So I went about and got it sorted, I have the prototype done and now going into production with these as I type this little write up.

sidewinder550m

I am stoked to be able to offer you these systems soon and boy do they sound great, fit well and of course, Perform all the way through the range of motion.

sidewinder550k

These are a little Powerhouse and I know you will enjoy this special system that will be made on Million Dollar tune bending machines and quality all the way with these.

sidewinder550p

Here is the other thing, these are not made over sea’s, these are made here in the USA and am proud to offer that, I am a small business and I help other local businesses, thats what keeps us all going and pleased to offer you all my USA made parts.

sidewinder550s

Below is the sidewinder fitted, I only plopped the baffle in as I will be Nickel plating that one, so as I revved it , the Baffle shot out, LOL, but you can hear what its like with no baffle, this exhaust does come with a baffle by the way and you can either Rivet it in place, or ue machine screws, your call. The Baffle does not have packing as I like it that way but, you can add glass fiber packing or steel wool if you wanted to muffle it more, but I doubt yu will as this is a crisp sound that many like.

I also offer this with 2 different tail section options, there is the Razor and the Hot Rod, you decide, below is the Razor, thats slash cut and shorter than the up sweep but a cool custom look.

sidewinder550razord

A very popular set up and easy to attach to your inline four bike, it is also louder than the up sweep tail pipe.

sidewinder550razor3

Below is the Hot Rod, this is a cool Turn out for that Old school style, something I am passionate about and I am stoked to offer this option too.

sidewinder550hotrod

Its a great set up and I make that for the 750 too but as you can see on this 550-4 it is a nice and tight set up and gives the ride a beefier look I think, hope that you like this as well.

sidewinder550hotroda

Take a look at some of the pics of the styles and make your own mind up, I enjoy what I do and like the feedback I am receiving.

sidewinder550hotrod1

Let me know your thoughts carpy@carpyscaferacers.com as input is so important from potential customers.

El Mirage Meet was fantastic!!!!

OK, for those of you who don’t know what Dry Lake racing is, its something way back after WW2 that many people came to in California to run their ModelA’s B’s and T’s, a souped up Jalopy that ran as hard as it could to set some sort of record or at least get into the books as a fast Speed trials car, thus HOT RODS were born and as far back as 1948 The SCTA -Southern California Timing Association  was Born.

For all to see and do, these dry lakes, be it El Mirage, Muroc or Harpers etc, was a fun and wide open place to take your Hot Rod out to and go flat out with no cops giving you a ticket.
Oh yeah, and for Motorcycles, man- we have come a long way as well, this chap ran 207 on a back up 205 and is now in the 200MPH club, how cool is that?

Here is some footage below that an SCTA member took of the 2015 meet, just to give you a little insight as to what goes on at the El Mirage dry lake.

Here is some more El Mirage footage for you to watch if you cannot make it to these events.

I never ever tire of this stuff and hope that you enjoy it as much too.

A super day out, I left at 4am and got here just before the Racing started and the temp was nice in the early hours but, soon warmed up.

Next up was actual footage I took with my Iphone, so forgive me for audio and not television standard filming, i was enjoying it too much to try too hard.

My mate Steve Ricketts- Fellow Brit- pushing the flying Swede out to the staging lanes. Thats

Håkan Karlen, a very cool Guy indeed and made me feel at home as soon as I arrived to the track at 6am.

Taking it all in as I set up the Eazy up and get cold drinks sorted before it gets too damn hot as it will be over 100 degree’s here in about an hour.

Motorcycles and Hot Rods pass All day, I had Jennifers Radio with me and tuned into the Control tower so i could hear who was racing and what machine they have, as well as what speed they hope to achieve of beat.

Here we are at the Staging lanes at El Mirage. With Steve Rockets and

Håkan Karlen

Staging lanes gets bloody hot and you hope nobody has a break down, or spin out as that can hold things up for a while.

Approaching the Race line, weather had turned up the heat too. Håkan Karlen

I am in the Push truck as the Flying Swede gets back on it in his 5 winchow chopped and channeled coupe. Hoping for a good run.

At then return lane, and a 183 MPH pass, hoping for more but spun a little.Håkan Karlen

Last run of the say, 1927 Model T with later Motor, sounded wicked on the pipe.

It was a superb day and lots to see and do, try and make it to a SCTA event as you may even get hooked into the sport like I am.

Below, Steve Rocketts Pushing the Flying swede Håkan Karlen in the staging lane, I helped push this coupe on the next go around, that is bloody heavy and my legs are still aching from pushing it. LOL!

DSC_0012

Here is Håkan Karlen sat waiting to take his turn to fire the V8 up on this coupe and go into the 180’s.

DSC_0014

The heat was only going up- so trying to stay cool is the main thing at El Mirage and hope that the cross winds do not pick up on the course.

DSC_0013

The good thing about this event is that you can get so close to all the action, everybody is so friendly and more than happy to help, its great commeraderie for sure.

Below, wicked 29 Roadster getting set to take a run on the lake bed.

DSC_0001

Plenty of Motorcycles too this time and another passion of mine as you well know, which has now lit a fire under my arse to maybe build a bike for the Dry lakes.

DSC_0002

I loved some of the Motorcycles and the Rigs that towed them up to the track, check this combo out it was so cool to see.

????????????????????????????????????
I really enjoy coming out to the dry lakes, its less than 2 hours from our house and some of the best spectating around.

DSC_0004

People starting their machines up and making sure they are running bang on , is fun to watch for me.

DSC_0007

If you dig Nostalgia, then this event is right up your street, I saw so many cool machines, it took me ages to see it all as the lake is bloody huge if you are walking.

DSC_0008

The bike above must of been going for the record of fastest towed motorcycle, as I saw that bike go up and down all day…behind that Mercedez.

DSC_0009

The good thing about this lake bed is that you can get to so many different areas, the course is marked off well and  Track Marshall’s all over the place to keep you in check.

DSC_0010

The sound, the smell, the heat, the excitement, its all here at El Mirage dry lakes, so try and make a trip out here as it is so much fun.

DSC_0015

Even Indians made a presence and that was great to watch going down the track.

DSC_0018

Above- Supercharged 350cc “Red Baron” Getting set to take his turn at the start line.

Great to see this bike and Old Fella give it the Beanz and belt off down the track, I knew he would get a fair speed up eventually, as i noticed how tiny his Rear sprocket was.

DSC_0037

Another Roadster getting ready for the off, Loved every minute of it here on Sunday.

DSC_0038

1927 Roadster this time, long wheel base and this hauled arse all day, sounded so nice on the pipe at half track.

DSC_0019

Harley with later Metric front end on is getting ready to be removed from trailer and run up the lake bed as fast as it can.

DSC_0020

Seemed to be plenty of Model A’s at the course at this meet, which I love, since I own a 1928 A Bone.

DSC_0021

Plenty going on in the Pits and look how close you can get to see all the action, a fantastic place to watch something you only get to see in magazines these days.

DSC_0022

The Sun was just starting to get warm in the early hours, but by 1pm is was cooking us all where ever you stood.

DSC_0023

Little Harley Davidson Sprint was getting into the action and saw this machine do a few Full passes too.

DSC_0025

This Tiny 2 stroke turned a few heads and I was amazed at how tall the rider was, and secondly, how low the clip on’s were on the forks, new meaning to down in the dirt.

DSC_0026

I loved this cameo Chevy Pick up with his Pit Bike on the front and little Harley racer in the back of the truck.

DSC_0028

Above, this Harley was such a nice set up, plenty of time, sweat and tears must of gone into this little Speedster machine.

DSC_0029

Another 350cc machine in the same class as others, looked to be a tough section to compete with but so much fun to watch and hear as they take off and get tucked into their little bikes.

DSC_0030

Getting ready down the staging lanes for this Harley Davidson Sprint to make some dust and go for a Record.

DSC_0031

WAAAAAAAGHHHH!  WAAAAAAAAAGH!  WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHH!!!

????????????????????????????????????
Getting the final OK from the Marshalls and are all set to go down this Dry lake for all its worth.

DSC_0017

Off he goes and hoping to get a good time as he blasts forward and towards the mountains of El Mirage dry lake.

DSC_0027

Looks like Harley Davidson was well represented for this Sunday meet on the lake.

DSC_0041

British Racing Green Triumph Thruxton bought these 2 to the lake bed.

DSC_0024

This Fella seemed to be taking it all in his stride, and why not, what a fantastic feeling that must be out there man and machine. (Women too)

DSC_0042

Little GS650 Getting scrutinized to make sure all is well, safe and within the parameters of whats allowed for that class of Motorcycle.

DSC_0048

Above, I have no idea what Brand of Motorcycle this is but it sure is stealthy. And below a V Twin has a go up the Course and looks great.

DSC_0050

The weather was really good, it is always Hot but the wind stayed down for the races, and am sure glad I attended this SCTA event at El Mirage.

DSC_0051

You will see many styles of Cars, bikes and Hot Rods at the dry lakes, a lot of work has gone into this Modified special and was fun to watch too.

DSC_0052

Above, the Push truck was very cool, a converted 1949 Studebaker Pick up, always loved the Spudbaker trucks but this is a cool push vehicle.

DSC_0053

Giving it as much right hand as he can and these bikes are fun to watch and have me hooked thats for sure, just got to work out what class I would like to run in.

DSC_0054

Must be such an exhilarating experience to be able to have an opportunity to have a go at this.

DSC_0055

Roadster getting the Push, just love the whole racing experience here at El Mirage and in less than a month I will be in Utah for speed week at Bonneville.

DSC_0056

Now thats low to the ground and even though it is fast, it must feel twice as fast and feel every bump on the track but a whole lot of fun for sure.

DSC_0057

So next time you see an SCTA race posted, see if you can come along as I guarantee you will enjoy the whole experience at one of these meets.

DSC_0046

So glad I got here early to see the pits and races start at 7am as its a lot cooler in the morning and less dust to start off with.

DSC_0043

That is the start and the control tower where you can tune into 88.7 and hear the commentary where ever you have a radio.

DSC_0044

Great photo to me as the Harley heads of, Lovely Roadster sat there on the left and a 1978 CB750 Honda sat far right.

DSC_0049

On the gas and sounding great.. Below, My Royal Enfield as I was parked Mid track, you can just make out a Motorcycle on the track flat out.

DSC_0076

So a super day, I arrived early to stay in the cool check the pits out and get a good spot to park my Van and, get the Royal Enfield out.

carpy El Mirage 6

My Honda SOHC 4 into 1 exhausts

Hey Everyone

A few people email me asking for sound samples of the exhausts etc, sometimes I keep them on file but after a while I tend to lose the files somewhere in the vastness of Computer space and never get them back.

So today I shall add a few sound bytes that I have done over the years to try and help just a little as to what my Exhaust systems sound like on these inline Fours.
Been doing these over 17 years here now and am very proud of that fact, none of that china stuff many others use, and then say its theirs and made in USA, all made right here in Anaheim California.

OK-if you need more information, you can email me on carpy@carpyscaferacers.com or if you like, you can drop a text to me or a Dime for that matter at 714-598-8392 and I am more than willing to help you out if you need photos or info for the 4 into 1 system of mine. Also check out ALL the exhausts on the parts page too.
Enjoy.

That was a 1978 Super Sport and the next one up is an earlier model that you can sample on here.
Next up a K4 model.

Here is a K6-K6 Model with the Yoshimura style 4 into 1 system of mine on it.

Below a customers video.

Below is another exhaust system from me but this time its for a CB350 and CB400, now this has a Fully packed baffle, a little too muffled for my liking, but it is what the Customer wanted.

A little louder version and this bike had not run in years and was first start up too.

Another Raw steel one but this time on a CB400-4, this sounds pretty good for a bike that had not been fired up in many many years.

Another Customers video of my exhaust on his CB550 Honda.

This is a customer video, not sure if he has the baffle but still great to hear.

Here we have a CB750 that a Customer had made a video of, with my pipe, see what you think, sounds crisp eh?

Here is one of my Custom versions, the Razor and the Hot Rod as well as the Sidewinder.

Many moons ago I built the F-Bomb and it sure was too!
Hold your ears for this exhaust system I made.

MOONEYES ANNUAL OPEN DAY WAS A BLAST

Well, going to Norwalk Blvd and stopping outside the famous Open Eyes, has always been a cool thrill for me, so much Hot Rod History in that little Yellow building and here we are again for the huge show that generates so much excitement and popularity, that I hope one day Shige can buy next door and make this an even bigger event.

I have been attending these shows since I moved here from other shores back in 2000 and to go to this show is a superb social event for me, some people I have not seen in years but also some people I have seen the day before, this is a fun family atmosphere with Genuine interest in our “Hobby”- ” Lifestyle”

The sun seemed to be up early today and as I kicked the Royal Enfield into Life, I could feel the beads of sweat running down my face like I was about to be shot out of a Circus cannon into an awaiting Net, that was made of wet paper .  But the Royal Enfield jumped into life, ticking over like a well oiled sewing machine, I clunked the gear shufter into first and it ubruply Grinded into the gear and then it was go time, Revs up, Clutch out, arse down, elbows up and I am now off to Norwalk , with Blues skies and a full gas tank, life seemed to smile at me, as to say. ” Go on son, have a brilliant day.

Well, as I took the back streets, it took maybe 10 minutes for me to pull into Norwalk Blvd, and slowly but surely I could see Hot Rods, Customs and every kind of style of machine on either side of the road, as I pulled up to Mooneyes, I was ushered into the driveway, where upon I was blasted by the sounds of the 50’s, some fella playing a stack of platters and I was digging the vibe Daddy’O!

Moon3

I took my Brain Box off and was Greeted right away By the Manager, Chico, such a genuine bloke that I have known for over 17 years now, he welcomed me and thanked me for attending, how nice is that? Don’t hear that much these days and it goes a long way in my book. ” What book is that I hear you ask?”  The book of Pleasantries!

moon17

Man! Was it hot, not even 10:15 it was Hotter than the inside of a Pizza oven on a Saturday evening.  But I was here and there were a ton of like minded souls there, soaking up the Sun, the Sounds and all the cool vendors and machines that adorned this infamous place for a Custom Couture that I dearly love.

moon66

I left my Brain Bucket sat on my bike, another cool thing with Mooneyes is its a safe place and I love that trust ethic at a show, very rare indeed.

moon14

The next person to take time out of their day was the owner of Mooneyes and a super friend of mine.

moon2

SHIGE SUGANUMA:  What a fantastic Bloke, flys over from Japan to meet all his Customers and genuinely take time to see how you are and ask about how things in the business and life is going, a rare find these days.

With more and more people pouring in, I wanted to get around and try and take a few snaps with my phone, not an easy task as so many people darting about but, I wanted to try and share with you lot what I did today, as many like my Blogs etc.

I walked along to the Vendors and wanted to say hello to my mate Keith Weesner, such a superb artist, always has time to say hello and another bloke I have known over 17 years now and as crazy as I into Hot Rods and Art, maybe even more so.

Moon4

So many rides parked all over the place, it was fun walking around, talking to people and checking the latest machines out.

moon 1

I bumped into my mate Big Dan from the Dynotones, these guys are the best 60’s Surf, Instrumental band anywhere, they rock it 24/7, try and ctah them at one of their gigs.

http://www.dynotones.com/

I saw so many rides there today, everything from Nostalgic Hot Rods, to Metal-flake Kustoms, it was great to see other rides that I have never laid my eyes upon and everybody seemed to be having fun.

If you are ever in Sunny So Cal, check Mooneyes out, they have all you need for your ride and what a historic trip down memory Lane you will have.

As the day got hotter, it was time for me to do another quick walk about and say high to friends and cross the road to see vehicles that hugged the kerbside and boy was there some neat rides there.

moon56

So, here is to the next event, this show is on until about 3-4 pm so go check it out, so easy to get to off the 5 freeway for Cars and Bikes, this has it all.

Check out the workshop too.

Hope to bump into you at this event next year, have a great weekend all of you.

HONDA CB750 BRAT BIKE

Well, here we are with a 1974 Honda CB750 SOHC model that was turned into an old Land Speed dry lakes Racing bike many many moons ago, but have no real history documentation of what it achieved back in the day etc, but- you can be sure that someone thought long and hard as to what they may do with it.

Last year this was a total mess, it was too dangerous to even attempt to ride, so, it sat for some time in the corner of the shop of mine, until such time as I thought that it needed to have a new lease of life and restyle this inline four 500 pounder into something a little cooler.

As you can see by the photos below, it was not much of a looker but- it did intrigue me to see to what lengths people would go to with these iconic Honda Fours, and I just let this bike sit until I decided it was indeed time to resurrect this sleeping giant. I removed the Old wheel and Built 2 Brand New Rims, with Polished Hubs and Stainless Steel Spokes, Both 18 inch rims.

18

So, time has gone by and over the past few weeks I have changed a number of things and I am sure that you will notice a difference right away, this is NO show point for sure, I just went ahead and changed a few bits and bobs as I pulled the old rusty and non usable parts off and either refurbished, remade or purchased New parts to slowly transform this inline 4 into a cool looking Bar hopper Brat style machine.

Below is the bike with another Gas tank, fitted with a New OEM genuine Honda Petcock, then I have totally rebult the old carbs, vapor blasted and rejetted them to the pipe, the parts taken off were zinc plated, polished and re-assembled.

20

Some of you may not even like what I am creating here, that’s fine as we all have our own tastes, but, if you are reading this, then of course, you must be into seeing what is becoming of this Single Over head cam Motorcycle. I wanted a Brat style machine and every few days at a New part, some of the work I have created has taken many hours and sometimes days to get it right.

22

Just have a look at the front forks compared to the old ones, as I took them apart. cleaned everything internally, then Polished the lowers, fitted New genuine Honda Fork seals and then Brand New Chrome Fork upper tubes, with New springs and caps etc, I also set the pre-load with stainless washers, just like back in the old days of racing.

sling shot1

I also cut the back of the old frame rails as they were not good anyway, and then I made my Own steel Hoop and shortened the chassis to give the bike a lower looking stance, Whilst I was at it, I also fitted a Custom Oil Tank that I sell on my website, this Oil tank holds 3 Quarts and has a battery Compartment where I have fitted an Anti-Gravity 8 cell battery pack and managed to fit some of the electrical in there too.

slingshot 5

Also you can see that I made a seat pan and upholstered it with cool Old School style Diamond Stitching, this looks pretty cool and am surprised how comfortable the seat is, and just have a look at how much this bike has changed since I first acquired it, I have fitted new Diamond Treaded Firestone Tires to match the seat and both Rims are 18 inch and make the bike sit so much better than the stock configuration.

Now, As you can also quite clearly see, this bike has a TON of New or refurbished parts, the carbs alone are like New, has a super cool New polished Air-box that makes this Motor breathe right. The Motor has Black wrinkle High temp paint on it and is embellished with stainless Allen head bolts through out and Brand New Honda valve caps on the cover.

This Brat Bike now has some cool parts, like my Newest Prototype exhaust system, the “Sling Shot” This is a great set up that produces power through all the range of motion and sounds incredible, later I will add a sound byte for you to sample the Motorcycle Running. A few months ago I got this running and I loved the sound when I had the raw steel exhaust on, this now has a high performance exhaust system and is look really cool.

The Crap people put up for Auction on Ebay make me laugh!

Howdy all

Well just a quickie today but I tell ya, just when i think I have seen it all on the infamous Ebay site, someone has to top it and this one is sure one of the best.

ebay2

I usually look for a few parts for a Honda if I am rebuilding it and do not have my own private stash to grab hold of, so I start to search for a Left side Stator cover and bugger me, I almost pissed out my own prostate Gland right through my Boxers.  Have you seen anything as bad as this for sale?  Jeez, the guy is explaining that’s it is a deal.

Thought that you all may get a kick out of all that you see there, not sure how the guy sleeps at night to be honest.

I have seen plenty of snot on the Ebay site and the guy who is Auctioning this off must be high, and if some one buys it, they must be using the same Bong!

Just wanted to share with you and at $35.00 yeah what a deal.

That is all, carry on!!!
