AMERICAN DRAG from David Harry Stewart on Vimeo.

Dakota had a great Drag Meet this Sunday at irwindale for the Summit Series , his Bronze Star racing ZRX14 took the win all day and came home with another trophy for the cabinet.

A really good day was had by all as we supported Dakota and enjoyed to some great races.

Below Dillon Gives “Aaron pine” Dakota’s pops some advice on how to get a good start!

Weather stayed pretty good with some low clouds in the afternoon and slightly cooler temperatures which made for good racing.

Below “Aaron Pine” is all set as he makes a timed run down the strip, this bike is a consistent machine with many wins and championship titles too!

Troy takes another shot of getting his Suzuki dialed in, unlucky fella usually but this Sunday he put down the Rubber and managed some good times.

.

Kota Kai is all set as he is about to wring the neck of his ZRX14 out and hit the mid 5’s at Irwindale.

Dakota and Troy Line up, the tree goes and Kota flies off like a Bat out of the Proverbial hell and taking the light.

Flying French Man ” Le Top” Sits astride his Period Kawasaki as he gets to stretch his frog legs out, he is a fun and determined guy.

Le Top and Shorty go at it to set some good times and dial their machines in, weather was great but there were many Left lane clean ups.

Staging Lanes as Dakota and le Top have some friendly Banter in the staging lanes, Dillon is making sure air pressure is where it needs to be.

Shorty and Troy shoot the Breeze as they get ready to run on the 1/8th.

Below, Bob Pines -crew chief for both Dakota and Aaron makes sure all is well, as my buddies from the 59 Club, James Matz, Dietrick Flores and James O’Donnel enjoy this meet up.

Quite a few track clean ups all seemed to be on the Left lane too, this causes a few issues, like getting bloody hot on the staging lane whilst in full Leathers.

It can seem like a hours when you are waiting to get on the track but just part of the event sometimes.

Soon the clouds starting to come in a little bit for some cooler breezes which was much appreciated.

Le top the flying Froggy gets ready to do battle. ” Zis iz Fun”! He Replies!

Kota sporting one of my Nostalgic Tee shirts as they try and stay cool before the call to the strip.

This is always great to see when Dakota and his dad get to race each other, it goes to and fro sometimes and makes for entertainment.

Kota gets the right Lane and is hoping to get the old boy at the light.

Winner! As Kota schools his dad this time, but- there will be many more runs like this through the season and can go either way! Jennifer sticks her Thumb up to say good lad as her son gets one more win!

Aaron now out of the race this weekend sits and chin wags with the Wacky froggy of Le Top Racing, a fun guy for sure.

Troy gets another go at the track on his Suzuki. a little nervous but its great to watch.

Le Top gets ready to bung on his Skid lid, as Aaron politely tells him his tire is as much use as a french goalkeeper!

Le Top gets on the track and has a by- so an easy win for him but he now will get to the final.

Le Top gives it the Beans as he gets the Much needed by and gets into the finals easily.

Kota gets the Far lane as he takes on Troy and here they warm the tires up to get plenty of traction.

Dakota’s Grandad makes sure he is bang on the good part of the Track and gets set on the line.

Time to focus and get another win as Dakota is all set to hit the loud button and head for a 5.57 dial in.

Kota takes out troy and is now in the finals and against the Jolly Green Giant. Le top!  As Aaron messes with his Dial in time on the ladder Bar!

All in good fun as both riders sit at the staging lanes, this is a great place to see all thats going on,

Time to get ready, as My girlfriend and Dakota’s Mum Jennifer Sun sits on the wall to give him some good luck with Taylor Kota’s girl to her right.

It is now Game Face time and the finals await for the Summit Series.

The countdown begins as they wait for the all clear to get on the tarmac and battle it out!

Troy looks down and wonders why his clutch hand didnt work as Dakota Schooled him.

So- Number 6 against number 7111 and it is a great day for it.

Kota looks up and see’s that they get he go ahead to suit and boot, now it is Game on!

Clouds helped the track to bring the temperature down and make the bikes breath a whole lot better.

Here we are then, time to warm the tires up and get ready for this great final USA V FRANCE!

Winner Winer Frogs legs Dinner, Kota takes the win on this epic day, well done mate.

On the center of the track as all Winners get a photo on the 1/8th here and what a Brilliant day it turned out to be.

Kota and the cup, he has more cups than a bra Factory and still only 20 years old!

Here are some super cool shots of Dakota that Adam LaVelle of Loose Nut Racing took at the track, great job Adam.

Great action shot here of Dakota racing full tilt against his dad “Aaron Pine” Always great to see these two race each other, last time his dad got him at the end, but not this race, Dakota ran the numbers and was on the Ball all day!

Another Superb Shot as Dakota Kai goes for the Win once more on his Bronze Star Racing group ZRX14 courtesy of Kawasaki USA!

Above Kota Kai with Grandad, grandma, and his dad as this Grease monkey Notches another win and gets the points he justly deserves in the Summit series.

Here we all are, we all support these guys and they do a super job, Drag racing is fun and still a family sport, come out and support when ever you can, its the best $5.00 you will ever spend and not many events you can get so close to the action as a spectator.

Above, Bronze Star Racing Group show their strength and you will see much more than this for certain as the series goes on.

It says it all LUCAS OIL who Sponsors Dakota and Aaron, have fantastic machines that get the job done, come out and watch for yourselves.

And Below, Dakota and Le top in the final as they are ready to hit the Throttle and get the win, kota get a great light and is bang on his numbers, Well done Dakota we are all so very proud of you mate.

Here is the Father Son Race and these always can go either way, this time Dakota takes the win.

Also here we have Le Top with a win against shorty running a 6:65 Dial in.

This time the next round I managed to just get with my Iphone was against troy and gotta smoked him!

Here we are with what I got on my Phone, Dakota and Le Top in the final, Kota gets the win and wins the Final, great job Buddy!
Le Top is a great guy but his frog legs just couldnt do it today!

A great day and well done to all that raced and thanks for everyone that came out to support this awesome Summit Series.

Come watch Dakota ” Double ” NHRA Champion at the Drags on Sunday!

My favorite Grease monkey is back at Irwindale Drag Strip and is the defending Double NHRA champion on his Bronze Star Racing group ZRX Kawasaki.

It would be great to see if you can make it out here to see him Race on Sunday as it will be a exciting day as this is a fast paced event that we will not miss.

It would be great to see if you can come out to irwindale to cheer him on, this is our chance to show everyone what we are about, Dakota is 20 years old and loves all motorcycles and is building them himself now, I would love to see you out there giving him a hoot and Holla as its a fun event for spectators.

The great thing with Irwindale is for Spectators you can really get close to the action, see and hear the screaming Motors, smell the Burning rubber and watch in amazement as Kota flies down the tarmac in less than 6 seconds.

kotaonline

Dakota will be ringing the neck out of his ZRX14 and I am sure you will love the whole day as there are other bikes and of course Classic Nostalgia machines to watch too.

10000408_10201116600311956_761852960_o

I am so Proud of Dakota for all he has accomplished and such a long way to go for him to improve and do many more things and I shall be there with my Girlfriend and his mum Jennifer Sun to support him to the utmost.

It is sure to be a fun day out, there is some food available there but bring your own and enjoy the day as plenty to see, the grandstand is by the track and you can walk the pits and see what is going on, everyone is approachable and friendly and this sport is the best in the world for that.

Cherry’s Company – BMW R nineT Highway Fighter

I must admit, this bike really does stop you in your tracks when you see it, I am amazed at the sheer brilliance of architecturally sculptured pieces work so well on the motorcycle.

Just look at the whole set up, it is such a stealthy machine and god enough for even a movie prop, and i would definatly sling my leg over this steed and see what it can do.

Just begging to have its neck rung out on a freeway and I love everything about this machine from Color to Contour.

I am at a loss for words right now and thats a rare thing in itself.

It is not until you look closely at the detail and of course the fit of the parts that makes you grin from ear to ear.

I love the seat, I have made some with tail lights like this but this is sure a thing of beauty!

For six months, four of Japan’s top custom workshops have been tearing down and rebuilding BMW’s R nineT roadster.

Shiro Nakajima vs Brat Style vs Hidemo vs Cherry’s Company.

You can check out all 4 of the final designs on BikeEXIF. They’re all lovely, but Cherry’s Company’s bike takes the cake. OMFG it’s off the tap! We love it!

A man with a Mission and he accomplishes it!

kurosu

Kaichiroh Kurosu

He is a motorcycle custom builder, who has dealt with Harley Davidsons for over 20 years

With his thorough and exhaustive knowledge of the mechanics behind motorcycles,

as well as his exceptional skills that he has cultivated from his experiences, he has produced exceptional works.

His strict and absolute attitude towards making motorcycles accepts no compromise and has been perceived with the highest regards in his field.

In recent years, his range of works has grown significantly, and includes domestic brands as well as foreign brands such as BMW.

I think this is something me and Dakota may be able to build in a slightly more Affordable build but this is just great to keep looking at.

Its tough yet elegant and a real work of art, so many hours of fitting to get the aesthetics bang on!

I love thew fairing, it maye be vacuumed but I would like to see it in metal on another ride. Still kicks arse!

Modern set up is so key these days, I am now getting into a few GPS set up gauges and they look vintage too.

Love that megaphone jutting out like a shot gun, just killer details.

So much to look at so I will not waffle on and just let you enjoy these shots.

I would love to rip this on that Runway as I am sure its fast and wonder how she handles?

The names will be familiar to most readers—Shiro Nakajima, Brat Style, Hidemo and Cherry’s Company—but until now, the R nineT Custom Project bikes have been hidden behind closed doors.

The results are being revealed this very minute by BMW design chief Ola Stenegärd at the BMW Motorrad Days in Nagano, and we’ve got exclusive images of the builds right here.

It’s a masterclass in the art of customizing bikes, and proof that the Japanese builders are in a league of their own. The craftsmanship, styling and sheer creativity on show is remarkable.

DIRT QUAKE

Dirt Quake is an awesome event for anyone to attend if they have a motorcycle,  this is held on the Eastern side of the United kingdom in a town called Kings Lynn in Norfolk. This is the flatland part of the UK and how do I know that, I went to school in the next county in Suffolk and used to go to Kings Lynn to watch the speedway there as I was an Ipswich witches fan and they were rival teams, the Kings Lynn Knights were their name but changed back to their original 50’s name the Stars.

So, in this quaint Saxon town you can now hear the rumble of a different tune, and thats road motorcycles in a cool event aptly named Dirtquake.

Below is the trailer for Dirtquake 2 but then we have shots that I have taken from the internet, via face book and the bike shed back home in the UK  and also friends sent me some pics  to try and show what goes on there.

We need it here in So-Cal as it would be a blast, no attitude, just fun.

Enjoy!

Dirtquake 3 has just finished and they had a great time, along with The Ilse Of Man Marvel “Guy Martin” has a go and enjoys it.

Use any bike and get some good tires and have a go.

So just some cool photos and vids to look at today to help you through the Hot times here that we are having weather wise.

There are some really cool photos that I saw on The bike Shed and Facebook and just thought that you may not have seen them and to try and keep you lot updated as to what goes on back in the UK and all over the globe for that matter in the Motorcycle fraternity.

I really like this event as nobody cares what you look like, its to have fun and in fact, they encourage you to go out on a limb and just have fun.

Hope you enjoyed the blog, we need something here at the local speedway like Costa Mesa, it would be Epic.

Time for a break soon as its been so mad here.

Well, almost the weekend and I have been contemplating letting Dakota run the shop and I take a week off with Jenn and go and have some fun, it has been some time since we have got to be out and forget about work, it sometimes just takes over our lives and we forget that there is life after 6pm.

I do have a few New products coming out and I can always add them via my trusty lap top if I am away, or need to answer something important etc, the wonders on the internet, but I don’t want to be a slave to that electrical monster.

I enjoy meeting people and talking about the many styles of motorcycles I love, but you got to try and take some time to kick back and rejuvenate- else you will crash and burn big time.

So I am going to see what to do and where to go so that I can get my creative juices flowing more freely by getting out of the workshop for a little but, but not until maybe September -October.

But I have some time to go to a few more shows, as well as maybe organize a few rides and maybe, just maybe try and arrange an event here in So-Cal for people to ride down too.

I love meeting like minded people, newbies and anyone interested in the motorcycle industry or lifestyle.

The amount of people I have met from not just in California, but all four Corners of the world- ( Does the globe have corners being round?)

So, a few more weeks and in that time I should have the NEW website pretty much ready to launch as we have a few things planned for the bikes we deal with and not only CB750 as I have branched out to Triumphs, be it THRUXTON, Bonneville or any of their brand and of course the Royal Enfield,

Life is fun and I am looking forward to more things to come from our shop.

So, enjoy life and have fun with what you do, wankers will always be wankers, but- don’t let them get to you, if you have a smile then that’s the best answer to anything.

Now go and enjoy the weekend, as I know that I am.

Dakota Takes the Win At Irwindale Drags!

Irwindale – Series Five of the Summit NHRA and Dakota is points leader right now!

Well, the morning when we got up I could tell that the temperature would be getting high, and sure enough, by 11am the ambient temperature was jumping high and I was sweating like a Duckling walking through a Ferrel cat housing project.

 photo 002_zps8de7c4b6.jpg

Dakota is leading the points right now and needs to do well once again and that’s no easy task as everybody that he races is fast and on the ball, so when we pulled up, Dakota had done a first run to check the bike and the times and was running well with a 5.72 1/8th mile on his ZRX 2014 Bronze star Racing group Kawasaki.

 photo 004_zps1dafb31f.jpg

Flying his colors of all his sponsors, Kawasaki, Lucas Racing oil, Penske racing Shocks, MTC, Shinko tires, Mavtv- Kota was fairly upbeat with his times, just that the track temp was jumping up and the tire was lighting up in different places.

His Dad was racing too  Aaron ” Twist of the Wrist” Pine and both on the same Factory machines, which is great to see.

 photo 003_zpsd342a03f.jpg

The same for everyone else but this can be so frustrating to a rider as they constantly have to change tire pressure, clutch weights and of course suspension etc, so no 2 runs are usually the same as the day goes by.

 photo 005_zpsdce94ac8.jpg

Tony Pellatera gets all set with the flying froggy Le Top, Tony has been racing for many moons and he can light you so easy.

 photo 007_zpsecfce897.jpg

The Flying Froggy la top sits on his Classic Green Machine and is a fun guy who loves racing.

 photo 008_zps5bad30df.jpg

Tony was unlucky this weekend but racing can be cruel like that. Awesome machine that screams like a scolded cat!

 photo 013_zps7f2d5a67.jpg

Dakota and Le Top sit in the Sun and await the call as they are on the staging lanes and boy was it warming up, it was a dry heat today so if you can sit without your gear on for as long as possible was key here this weekend. Although Dillan should of worn pants looking by the amount of skin he was showing that day!  Ha Ha.

 photo 014_zps59af414c.jpg

The field was going through the traps quite fast so not too long of a wait in the Sun.

 photo 015_zps3e7d6b64.jpg

Aaron and pops await the call as the temps slowly start to creep up, like cheap Boxers!

 photo 016_zps3ed7e69a.jpg

Tony Pellettera sits and awaits his fate against Dave Miller.

 photo 025_zpsec1c60f8.jpg

 Aaron lighting it up.

 photo 026_zpsf9badc05.jpg

The bike was almost the same as Dakota’s but had a little bit of tire slipping, and this is always frustrating, kota had that issue here a few meets ago but some ya win and some ya lose.

 photo 027_zps29f2922d.jpg

Tony and Dave get into the box and get everything set at the water box and now Game on!

 photo 028_zpsa0f2d5ac.jpg

Both these bikes are louder than pink sweaters and always great to watch compete.

 photo 029_zpsbb10d10d.jpg

All set as they stage and get ready for the fast Green light.

Dakota lights the tire up good and proper as he prepares to get the big W!

 photo 047_zps907eb759.jpg

Troy didn’t have a good meet this time but he will be sure to be back for the next one.

 photo 048_zpsd9e25c07.jpg

All set to let the hammer down as he runs fast times once again.

Le Top takes a run to see how the bike is running as he went out against Dakota.

Now some great shots below from Adam Lavelle of Loose Nut Photography, he is always at the track and if you need a Portfolio to just some cool shots to send to Gran, this guy is a really cool fella and will hook you up with what ever you need. Don’t be afraid to speak to him, unless he is eating a Donut!

Great shot Below of Dakota and His old man  Aaron ” Twist of the wrist” Pine.

Aaron lights them up to get a wee bit of traction, but alas, the tire slipped like a baseball outfielder on a rainy day. And Below Dakota does the same thing but he is lucky that his set up worked out for him at this meet.

Pops Pin and Aaron doing the High 5 as Dakota brings home the Bacon.

Back on the track, looks lonely out there but not for long as 5.71 Seconds flies by.

Here we all stood to be part of the day and a great result, boy do I love the drags!!!!

Was it a Hot day?

Shit Yeah!

Great Job Dakota! Now next week is Fontana, lets get this out of the way as its like a sauna there.

Watched a few cool rides race today too.

Yes please, I love the 55, even with the scratch down the right side.

An entertaining day for sure as for us, we got some cool sights and sounds of the City work guys that were rebuilding New Power cables and watched them dangling from helicopters in between race rounds.

Mr Harris made his TT Races debut in 2012 and was a three-time British Supersport champion. He also finished fifth in the Superbike category in 2006.

Gary Thompson, clerk of the TT course, said: “Karl was one of the great characters in the race paddock.

“His infectious enthusiasm and sense of humour lit up many race meetings.

“He was a hugely talented racer and will be sorely missed.”

A statement from organisers ACU Events Ltd said: “The ACU wishes to pass on their deepest sympathies to Karl’s friends and family.”

On Monday, 65-year-old Bob Price died after a collision in a Supersport category race in the village of Ballaugh, the Stroud News and Journal reported.

The newspaper said Mr Price came off his bike at a humpback bridge along the 37.5-mile course.

An investigation into both accidents has been launched.

Last month, biker Simon Andrews died after he was involved in a crash in the Superstock race at North West 200 in Northern Ireland.

The 31-year-old, from Evesham in Worcestershire, was injured in the crash and died in hospital two days later.

Harris was involved in an incident at Joey’s on the second lap of the race. All at Bike Social send their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Harris.

A statement from TT organisers read:

“ACU Events Ltd regrets to announce that Karl Harris, 34, from Sheffield was killed during the Superstock Race at the Isle of Man TT races today following an incident at Joey’s on the second lap of the race.

Harris, a professional motorbike racer, made his TT Races debut in 2012. He was a triple British Supersport Champion and British Superbike podium finisher.

Harris appeared on the racing scene as a teenager in the 1990s, when he rode for Team Great Britain in the Superteen Championship. From there, Harris went on to win the 1999 European Superstock 1000cc Championship before spending a season in the World Supersport Championship.

He was best known for his British Championship career. He was the dominant force in the British Supersport Championship in the early 2000s before becoming a prominent front-runner in the Superbike class for the factory Suzuki, Honda and Yamaha teams.

Harris won three British Supersport Championships between 2001 and 2004, the first for Crescent Suzuki and the remaining two for Honda Racing, before progressing full time to the premier Superbike category in 2005. His best season came in 2006 when he finished in 5th place overall recording 6 podiums. In total, Harris notched up 12 BSB podiums.

The ACU wishes to pass on their deepest sympathy to Karl’s family and friends.

Gary Thompson, TT Clerk of the Course, ACU Events, said: “Karl was one of the great characters in the race paddock. His infectious enthusiasm and sense of humour lit up many race meetings. He was a hugely talented racer and will be sorely missed.”

The Coroner of Inquests has been informed and an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.”

If you get to Fontana or Irwindale or leis Vegas  or even Barona, look out for 7111 as he runs them all.

Shinko Tires, Muzzy Performance, Mav Tv, Penske Suspension, Kawasaki motorcycles are his sponsors and he races for Bronze Star Racing Group.

A hive of activity at the track and the Sun was out to make the day interesting.

Lucas team discuss the Values of cool sunglasses on such an epic race meet.

Hooked and launching, Dakota does what he does best.

Hot temps, sticky track and constant temperature changes are actually a royal pain in the arse for a competitor.

Dakota getting ready ti light the rear up as he Grandad “Bob Pine” gets him straight on the line.

Mavtv enjoy Dakota’s successful start to the race season.

That Muzzy sure lets people know who is in the house.

Proline Wraps.com is all you are going to see as you face Dakota kai Sun- just satin’.

Kota is all attitude when he gets in the groove, his main objective is to get the goal he has set out to do and he does it to the best of his ability, every time, he always pours 100% into what he does and gives it his best shot, you can never say he didn’t try hard enough as that just is not in his vocabulary.

But, Even he missed out by the smallest of margins, he is now all set for this weekend when Dakota is back at Irwinindale where he is still the points leader there and hope to improve on his points standings.

If you have never been to watch Motorcycle drag racing, come out- you will be so glad you did, the noise, the smell, the camaraderie is second to none.

A lot of racing still to come, hope to see you out at some of the meets the NHRA holds, come by, say hello it will be great to see you.

Dakota Races at Irwindale on Sunday! Come watch him Race.

Irwindale Event Center Dragstrip is the place to race!

Tomorrow Dakota will be at Irwindale Drag strip, and as right now he is the points leader, we shall be cheering him on even more to accomplish his goals that he has set out for, the last 2 meets Dakota had at irwindale, he won- so lets hope this will be a ti-fecta for him. Come on 7111, we know you are capable, lets hope track conditions are perfect for him.  his Grandpa is Crew chief  ( Bob Pine )- and makes sure everything is all set for the lad to hit the loud button when he gets on the track.

Dakota Kai Sun is racing against his pops too- Aaron Pine, and this time, they are both racing on the same model machines, ZRX1400, Aaron’s is in Blue and Dakota is in Red, these will be a good match up as pretty much set up the same.

Aaron will be on his ZRX racing for the first time, as this is a brand new machine and will be great to see how the bike dials in at the track, he had a few runs on Thursday and hopefully all will be well.

I want to thank Lucas oil, Mav Tv, Muzzy, Penske Racing Shocks, Shinko Tires for giving these guys the chance to show what they are made of, They Both race for the Bronze star racing group and Both have become Champions with them, so- this must be a great formula.

Dakota Kai Sun is only 19 and I am sure that people all around the drag Racing fraternity will know his name sooner or later and can get to race all around the USA, he is from a racing Family, as i said, his dad races the same model bike and a Gixer too in mid 5’s, and now , Dakota’s little brother Gavin pine is racing mini dragster series and he won his first event last meet too, rare to have that these days and we all welcome any support for them.

So- if you can make it out to Irwindale on Sunday, come and give Dakota a shout and a wave as he rides his Bronze star Racing group Kawasaki ZRX 1400 up the strip to a win.

I shall be there with his Mum Jennifer ( my Girlfriend)  and we shall be posting about how the event goes through out the day on Facebook too.

Send positive thoughts and be great if we see ya there, Go Kota Kai!!!!!
